Chapter note. the first 3 chapters have introduced you to the Three. Each faction is controlled, to a degree, by a real life person so decisions have to be made.
Terrill, now finding themselves at war with his former Friend, Crown Prince and King had to decide where to send their family and spread their influence. Stay at Dannamore Hold or go to the city of Greenvale. They also needed to decide if they would send a force to take hold of it.
Read on to see what they have decided.
Terrill Reached Greenvale, the Capital of Vasted, before his wife Oceana, although he knew in just a day or two she would join him there. The streets were crowded with its citizens going about their everyday lives. The journey had been a pleasant ride, he had set a pace that could only be matched by those who were conditioned to it but it was far from a hard ride and they had time to view the countryside as they passed through. Now having reached the city which spread out across 3 low hills, a city that had never been walled in , he made his way to his own home. A grand mansion with its own grounds and stables surrounded by a high wall outside of the cities centre on the south facing slope of the smallest hill that had been covered by Greenvale as it had grown. It was Grand but far from the largest, those homes, of the oldest families were on the largest hill. Those homes were almost never sold outside of their families, there was the old centre of power and no matter what he had done Terrill was unable to buy any property in that spectacularly impressive part of the city, but he felt at home as he entered through his gates. Dannamore Hold was his place of power and status but he had grown up in a rural estate and so when peace had come and he was to be a part of the remaking of Vasted he had yearned for a more urban home.
He was soon resting looking out over his gardens when The House Keeper Mrs Cloudstrider entered with food and drink. Of course the house and gardens although only left with a small staff when the family were not in residence was immaculate. Terrill expected nothing less, Mrs Cloudstrider had come to his house hold with his wife and Had been at Oceanas side since she had grown out of childhood. Terrill gestured for her to remain.
"I will be going to the city hall in the morning, what can you tell me of the mood" Terrill asked knowing that word passed between households even if it was idle gossip but also having no doubt that Mrs Cloudstrider would be doing all she could to help her lady.
"Greenvale still trys to stay as free as ever the old households would rather die than show that they bow to anyone but they are not stupid, they know what power you hold. But who wants to defy a King?" she left the question in the air. It was clear she was loyal but did not like anything or anyone who may put her lady in great danger.
They spoke a little longer exchanging information, she sort word on Oceana and Alden, Terrill wanted to glean all he could from anything that had reached her ears.
The following day was a clear one, Terrill took the long walk in to the City, he had a guard but largely he went with as little show as possible. He planned a show of confidence verging on carefree as he went to the City Hall to meet the high members of the council. He knew there were risks but he was also sure that the council would know the consequences of any rash action, after all his son and one of the most respected commanders led his entire army. A force that would fall upon the city like a crushing wave and with the Crown Prince not even within the countries boarders Terrills power was the greatest without question for now.
He entered the centre of the city mainly unnoticed, but it was clear to those who he drew near to that he was a man of wealth and his guard, although only numbering 3 and keeping a casual distance from him, radiated a noticeable threat towards anyone who they felt were undesirable.
Walking into the centre he soon reached the City Hall, making his presence noticed then making the council wait beyond his allotted time by returning to the street to find a beautiful fabric as a gift for his wife and while passing one of the most wealthiest merchants shops of the city buying a large pot of their rarest oils.
