Carter's pov-
I was jolted awake when there was a knock on my office door, I cleared my throat, " Come in." I said, wiping the drool off my cheek. I cannot believe I fell asleep. A man walked through the door, " Hi, I'm Andres. I'm the manager of this branch. I never thought I'd actually get to meet the big boss." he said.
" Right, I read your file, it's nice to meet you. I'm Carter." I said with a friendly smile. He walked over to my desk and placed a file down. " We got an offer for our newest gun. We also have the King's requesting access to our newest line of laptops. I'm not sure if you know who they are but they are very influential in this city. They're arms dealers." he explained. Kings? As in my brothers?
" Kings? Do you know any of their first names by chance?" I asked, flipping the file open.
" Only the two oldest, Caspian and Callum. They're pretty private about their family." he said and I gave a small nod to show I was listening.
" Oh wow, you have a kid?" he asked, jutting a thumb to Miles' crib in the corner.
I smiled as I looked over at the crib, " I do, his name is Miles." his face faltered slightly, " I'm sorry if this comes across as brash but how old are you? You look a little young to run a company and a little too young to be a mom." he said in an awkward tone. I wanted to be mad at him for asking but I know he doesn't have any ill intentions and you can't really blame someone for being curious. Plus, it's not like he's wrong.
" Old enough to be your boss. Thank you for bringing me the file, it was nice meeting you Andreas." I responded politely. He nodded, " Right, well, I've got a meeting at 2:10, so in like five minutes. I should probably be going. It was nice meeting you as well, Ms. King." he said, thankfully taking the hint.
Wait, what fucking time is it?! Oh fuck, oh fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck. It's 2:06, I need to get back to school. I quickly got Miles out of his crib and put him into his stroller, I then quickly changed and headed out, " Which one would be faster, a cab or the subway this time of day?" I asked a random lady on my way out.
She looked at me up and down, disgust taking over her face. " How did you get into this building? If you don't leave now I'll call security." she sneered. This bitch really just threatened to call security on me, the security guards I hired and pay. I'd love to knock her down a peg but I'm seriously in a rush, thankfully there's always tomorrow.
" Cab or subway?" I asked pointedly. She scoffed at me before answering, " Cab." she sneered. I ignored her as I made my way to the exit, on my way out I could hear her calling security. What a dumb bitch. Whatever, I've already met all of the security guards, they know who I am.
I hailed a cab and had them drive me to the school. Remind me to never take a New York cab again, they drive like they have nine lives. We arrived at the school seven minutes later. We arrived with a harsh stop, causing me to jerk forward. I gritted my teeth before getting out and taking Miles out as well. I bought a stroller that also doubles as a car seat. All I had to do was pull it out and the legs of the stroller unfolded, landing on the ground.
I thanked and paid the man. Fuck, I still don't know my way around the school. How the hell do I get to the parking lot? I walked around for a solid ten minutes before giving up. I would've taken out my phone to call one of my brothers but my dumbass forgot it at home. I wonder if they'd be mad if I just called an uber and went home.
" You lost?" a voice resonated behind me.
I whipped around to see two similar looking guys staring at me. They were both tan with blonde hair and stunning ocean blue eyes. " Yeah, I can't find the parking lot." I admitted.
