 Casper's pov-

I felt my heart clench painfully in my chest as I listened to Carter's heart shattering sobs. I really didn't mean to push her, I was just trying to help her. I really thought talking about it might help her. " What the hell happened?!" Caspian snapped as he approached, Carson and Callum at his side.

I ran a hand down my face, " Things were going okay but then I tried to convince her to talk to you guys about everything that happened and she snapped." I explained. I could tell by the sour looks on my brothers' faces that they could hear Carter sobbing. I know they all wanted to go in there and comfort her, but none of us did. I think we all knew at this point it's best to give Carter a minute to breathe when she gets upset.

We all sat in the hallway, giving Carter time to calm down. " I can't believe she has a kid." Carson murmured, his head resting against the wall behind him. " Me neither." Callum murmured. Caspian, who was sitting next to me, nudged my shoulder with his, " Did you manage to get anything out of her? Like who Miles' father is?" he asked.

" Yeah." I answered. I wasn't going to lie to my brothers, I've never really been one for lying but that doesn't mean I'm going to tell them anything either. They all looked at me expectantly, " Well? Who is it?" Carson asked impatiently. I looked up at the ceiling, avoiding their questioning gazes. " Can't say, it's not my business to tell." I said, knowing full well it was going to piss them off.

" Casper, this isn't something to fuck around with. You need to tell us." Callum said sternly, a tone he rarely uses. I rolled my eyes, " I know it's not something to fuck around with but she's already pissed at me, I don't want to lose the little trust she has in me. If you want to know, you'll have to wait for her to tell you." I said with a small shrug, ignoring the pissed off looks they were all giving me.

I don't know how long we'd been sitting out in the hallway but I know Carter's cries stopped hours ago. " Can I go check on her?" Carson asked, staring at the door. Callum gave him a small nod and he quickly got up and walked over to the door. " Guys, it's not opening." he said as he pushed at the door.

We all sprung to our feet, " Lemme try." Caspian said, shoulder checking the door but it didn't budge. " She must've blocked it with something, these doors don't have locks on them." Callum said as he tried pushing on it with Caspian. " Carter! Open the door!" Callum shouted to no avail. " I don't think it's safe for her to be alone with Miles." Callum said.

" She would never hurt him, she loves that kid more than anything." Carson argued. " I know but she's not in a great head space, if she has another episode I don't want him to get hurt." Callum explained. Even in an episode I don't think she'd hurt him but you never know, PTSD can make someone unpredictable. We weren't surprised when the doctor told us she has PTSD, it honestly makes sense after everything she's told me.

" Fuck this." Caspian muttered, taking a step back before kicking the door. The door flung open and we all rushed in. I think we all took a collective breath of relief when we saw Carter asleep on the bed with Miles asleep on her chest. " Thank god." Carson murmured, walking over to the bed. He climbed into the bed, sitting next to Carter's sleeping body. " How mad do you think she'll be if I pick him up?" Carson asked.

Caspian let out a chuckle, " I think she'll rip your fucking head off." he said. Carson gave a small shrug, " Worth it, he's just so adorable, like a chipmunk." He reached over and carefully plucked Miles from Carter. Not even ten seconds later Miles woke up and started crying, " Shit, shit, shit, what do I do? What do I do? What do I do? I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." he panicked, quickly placing Miles back with Carter.

" You should leave him alone next time, haven't you heard that you should never wake a sleeping baby?" Carter grumbled as she sat up. " Fuck, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up." Carson said, looking genuinely quilty. She shook her head softly, " You didn't, Dean Winchester over there did when he kicked the door in." she said, causing all of us to chuckle as Caspian rolled his eyes.
