i tapped my foot anxiously, sitting in the studio was so boring. all i wanted to do was see her. jake walked into the room and noticed my anticipation.
"go back to the record store sammy." he said taking a seat. "no awsten said she wasnt there.. and im quite honestly not up to bothering him. i dont think he likes me."
"yeah but jackie likes you, so why does he matter?" he said raising an eyebrow. i agreed with a "hmm."
i thought about it for a second then stood up quickly. "ill be back. tell josh i went for fresh air or something, he hates when we leave." i said without looking at jake.
i shuffled down the stairs and made my way to the lobby. "sam the man!" a voice said from my left, jackies dad. "hey jeremy!" i said nervously. "hows that bass sounding?" he said leaning against the lobby desk. "great great! the set up is fantastic up there." i said pointing to the ceiling.
he nodded. "ill see you 'round buddy." he said tapping his hand on the table and walking into another room. i sighed with relief and flung open the door. i shoved my sunglasses on my face and walked quickly down the street.
i made it to the shop but i heard shouting from inside. i heard awstens loud voice and shuddered. i also heard jackie, yelling. i quietly opened the door, trying not to disturb anything.
but as the door shut, the tiny bell on top of the door chimed, alarming them that someone was present.
i saw jackie and awsten face to face. jackie had tears and awsten seemed angry. i awkwardly stood there as they stared.
"sam.. hi.." jackie said in a defeated voice. she was upset. my body tensed up at seeing her this way.
"here we fucking go you just had to be the hero didnt you?" awsten said turning to face me. his eyes were beaming with envy. i had chills.
i held my hands out to show that i was in fear. "no no im.. im just here to see jackie.. im sorry if i interrupted.. are you okay?" i said shifting my attention to the green eyed girl.
she nodded and walked over to me. "awsten, ill see you when you've calmed down and are ready to talk." she grabbed my hand tight and pulled me out of the store.
i stayed quiet for a little bit but once the silence felt awkward i finally spoke. "im sorry, what was that about?" i said quietly. "you dont have to tell me.. im just worried."
she shrugged. "its just awsten. he gets extremely jealous. he thinks that im supposed to end up with him. when in reality hes fucking delusional." she said looking at the ground.
i stopped walking and turned to her. i lifted my hand to her chin and slowly turned her head up to look at me. "hey, its okay." i said wiping a tear from her cheek. "im sorry about him. and i know you guys are best friends, but it sounds like he thinks you are more. and if im overstepping or moving to fast.." i ranted but was interrupted by a set of soft lips on mine.
she kissed me gently. she was standing on her toes to reach me. i kissed back softly, still feeling tense from seeing her upset. we pulled away and she blinked her eyes open. "i will be alright. he just has to get over it." she said reassuring me. i smiled and nodded slightly.
"d'ya want to go back to the studio and hang out with me and the guys for a bit?" i asked her quietly. she nodded and gave me a half smile. i smiled back and held her hand and started down the street. she followed me quietly, leaning into my arm which made me blush.
we got to the studio and i held the door open for her. jeremy was sitting in a chair in the lobby when he saw us. my face turned red and i quietly tried to make my way past him.
she let go of my hand. "hey dad." she said casually. jeremy smiled and laughed. "why did i have the feeling that this would happen." he said to me. i laughed nervously. "its alright sam, youre a good kid. no need to be scared of me." he reassured.
i smiled and nodded. "if awsten comes by, tell him in not here." she said to him. he nodded "fine by me. i dont like that guy." he said standing up and walking out of the room.
she turned back to me and we started our way upstairs. i pushed the door open and three heads shot up to look at us in the doorway.
"JACLYN!" josh said raising his hands and running over to her! "how are you! what are you doing here?!" he said while hugging her. she had the biggest grin on her face. "im great josh!" she said softly.
"whats wrong? whats with the melancholy?" he said with a concerned look. "oh nothing, just.. awsten." she said rubbing her temples. "its a lot to explain.." i said to josh, rubbing jackies back.
"josh let her breathe." jake said from across the room. "wanna watch us rock out?" jake said raising his eyebrows to jackie.
