The Hook Family Secret (Former Title:Harry Hook's Secrets) (BOOK ONE)

Chapter 4

Jay, Uma, Gil, Lonnie, Carlos, Jane, Evie, Doug and Mal, were chilling in the lounge at Evie's place.They were getting ready for their movie night. It was just going to be some strange movies Ben had found in his cupboard. They were just going to have a fun night. Ben informed them that he would be right down after he collected something from his desk in his office. Mal told him to get Harry while he was up in the boys' dorms. Evie had brought the popcorn as she snuggled on the love chair with Doug. Jane and Lonnie were on one sofa with Jay, Dude and Carlos on the floor in front of them. Carlos had saved a space for Harry once he got there. The two had a unique bond almost like a family bond, others envied the unique relationship the two shared. Mal was lying on one sofa as she waited for Ben. While Gil and Uma were sitting on another sofa to the side, entranced in a book Uma had.

The door opened as Mal exclaimed, “Finally, where have you two been…” Her speech faltered as she saw a teary eyed Ben holding a letter in his arms, a bag full of stuff and a keychain with a hook on it in his hand. Everyone turned towards Ben as he sat on the sofa next to Mal who gently took the letter from the young King’s hands as she read out loud:

Dear Ben,

I must say I am entirely greatful for your helping hand since the barrier came down a couple of months ago. But, times have shifted. I regret to inform you. That I have left Auradon Prep. I can’t stay somewhere I am entirely not welcome. It’s not your fault, you hold a strong head on your shoulders but you can’t see everything. I have been thinking about this for a while. Honestly, the reason I am leaving is because I don’t fit in and I can’t stand Boradon. Sorry Auradon!. 

I am really thankful for all the help you have given me. But, I see that there are others that need your help as much as I did. I can’t stand the criticism anymore from not only students but from adults too. I am leaving on my own accord, so don’t mix my words. I have left contact details in the envelope if you surely wish to contact my sisters. But, even they don’t know where I’m going. 

I’m only going to say this once. Please do not track me down. We will meet again but only when I want to. Please say goodbye to your friends for me as well as the pup and his fairy. I must be off.

Let Jay know none of this is his fault, it is important to me that I leave.

Please give the white box to Carlos and the blue envelope to Evie. While the purple one is for Mal. The teal for Uma and Gil. Jay and Lonnie the black one. The red for Jane and Doug. The white envelope is for Ben - use it wisely.

P.S. For future endeavours make sure you lock the museum as the back door seems to be broken, no I haven’t broken in recently Carlos infomed me and knowing his luck. He forgot. 

P.S. Yes I know this is written in English, the Computer was kind enough to lend me a hand as your printer screamed as it printed. No, I didn't break into your office. I printed a key. Okay i stole it off Chad but put it back once done in your money box.

Jay still remembered the different emotions around the room but hearing Carlos sob into Jane’s arms brought tears to Jay’s eyes. They hadn’t realised they had lost their friend a long time ago. Jay threw his glass against the wall watching it shatter as Lonnie wrapped him up in his arms. Jay hadn’t just lost a friend that day, he had lost his brother, best-friend, and most of all Harry Hook, his first family.

On that day each individual got a gift:

Evie - Got a small book with an email in it. A voucher for clothes materials. She didn’t tell anybody about the email.

Mal - Got a necklace with a baby heart on it as well as the letter she asked Harry to drop into the hospital for her.

Ben - Got a key chain necklace with a container full of pixie dust.

Doug - Got a voucher to his favourite shop

Jane - Got a badge and a necklace of a flower she loved.

Jay - Got a ring with the shape of a wolf on it - Harry's old ring - Jay used to play with when Harry sat next to him.

Lonnie - Got a voucher to her favourite shop.

Gil - Got a bracelet to match his bull necklace with his name engraved in it as well as a ring, he asked Harry to get him

Carlos - Got Harry’s old pirate jacket, his dark red one, as well as a few accessories for Dude as well as a necklace with a hook on it and a small envelope sealed with something in it, he kept to himself.

Uma - Got a shell she had to pry open as it contained something she had been looking for years. Her mothers teal enchanted ring. Uma noticed there was something else in the envelope. There was a hook, bull, octopus bracelet handcrafted. Each gem had their initials on.

Uma sobbed into Gil’s shoulder as emotions ran around the room as everyone had lost someone that day whether it was a friend, a brother or a family member they all shared the same thought ‘Please stay safe Harry’. Okay maybe not as Dude looked absolutely confused as his belly rumbled.
