[Last part of Chapter 1]

Sonic wondered what Shadow would possibly be trying to ask him but he was open to his questions; Sonic was a good listener.

"What is it Shadow?"
"I-... *sigh* I just- *exhale*..." He breathed slowly, looking down with loss for words and an expression of tiredness. He knew he had to say something; He didn't even know how he himself felt but he felt he had to talk about how he felt.

"I just feel so confused" he admitted, sighing heavily. Shadow stared at the rugged, dirty and grey felt door mat on the outside of the broken buildings doorway.

"Your a free spirit, Sonic. I still can't make sense of my freedom." Shadow remarked, he felt a bit relieved after telling him even though it wasn't what he originally wanted to say.

Shadow had tired eyes. What time was it? It seemed as if the concept of time disappeared in this conversation vacuum, in this town.

"Shadow you can make sense of your freedom, you have all of eternity to," Sonic stated, "I have only this small time to live, it's why I make sure that I live my life to the fullest and you can too."

"I believe in you Shadow."
