Part 9

Argh, fucking dread. Even when I'm happy it's there. Even when I'm feeling it I'm happy.

Melancholy is romantic and the emptiness inside is enough to fill a person's heart.

Cigarette in my mouth and the suns going down, still can't decide if I should keep my feelings deep down.

'Hmm, I wonder what Shadow is thinking.'

"And there we go, the bandage has been applied"
"Thanks Shadow"

Shadow tilted his back to the car calmly and quietly examined the area around him.
"So, what happened here?" He asked curiously without trying to appear too inquisitive.
"Oh that? I really don't know," Sonic told him, "I just started hiding out here every now and then whenever I got into trouble."
"Trouble?" Shadow looked at Sonic.
"Just a quiet place that's nice to go for a while, Y'know?" Sonic replied truthfully.
Shadow looked at the ground, "Sonic the Hedgehog and his little ghost town quiet corner." He ridiculed in an emotionless, quiet voice.
Sonic looked away from Shadow with a bit of annoyance.
Shadow looked down, shook his head and face palmed before quickly stroking his red striped hair back quickly out of guilt.
"Sorry, I'm just an asshole," He apologized quickly, "But that's just my problem, okay? and I've enjoyed hanging out with you." Shadow admitted, "Things have just been getting me depressed lately; this world, myself. I'm one of the most powerful beings on this earth yet I can't fix society and stop it's corruption." Shadow confessed some of his inner thoughts he had been keeping away, it felt a bit better.
"Well Shadow, all you can do is try to help in even the little ways, it's all you can do. If there's corruption then you fight back in any way that you can and help as much people as you can." Sonic stated.
Shadow took his advice, it struck a cord within him.
"Sonic can I tell you something?" He asked nervously.
"Yes Shadow?"
