Inside the old building the wood planks were covered in cracks, creaks with every step taken, and had darkened over the years from buildup of many things. The wooden walls of the room were stained blackish yellow from tobacco smoke and on the broken plank floor lay a pack of cigarettes. Upon closer inspection Shadow could read the writing on the package, it said: "Chesterfield King Sized Cigarettes."

Shadow felt slightly self-indulgent and thought to himself that it wouldn't hurt if he smoked some. It was a calming ritual to smoke every now and then, and the century-old death sticks looked highly appealing.

Shadow opened the pack and lifted one out, he lipped his lips before placing it in. He had a little trick; his hover boots could give off a small flame if he used its rocket boost. He lifted his left foot up to his face and activated it to light the cigarette, it didn't work so he sighed as he switched to using his right foot boot. It lit the Cigarette.

Shadow took a drag and inhaled, it tasted like freedom, it tasted brilliant and it put him in a mellow mood.

He stood around taking a couple drags before going towards the back of the room to retrieve the bandages. Cigarette in mouth, he opened the lonely small wooden cupboard and grabbed the rolled up bandages that was in there and started steadily making his way back outside. Before walking out he grabbed some of the left behind gin he had spotted on the floor, by the wall.

"Here ya go Sonic." He stepped out the door with the lit cigarette hanging out his mouth and holding the roll of bandages.
"What's the gin for?"
"What ya think?" Shadow responded sarcastically. He poured the Alcohol on Sonic's wound before beginning to wrap the bandage.
"Ow." it stung however he wasn't too bothered by it.

Shadow, steadily and with care, wrapped the bandage around his arm. Whilst he focused on wrapping the bandage—Sonic looked into his eyes—Sonic saw Shadow's caring side; it was what Sonic admired about him.
