I gulped, “ate, you okay? Umiiyak ka ba?” Her voice… sounds different.
[“Ah, aniyo.”] I want to roll my eyes as she said 'no' in Korean Language. [“Congrats, anyway.”]
I pouted, I don't know what should I say. “Unfair, kami may moving up kayo deretso college na,” I mentioned after remembering what my ate is talking about.
I heard her chuckle, [“well, good thing kasi makakapaghanda ka pa or let's say warm-up para—”] nangunot ang noo ko nang marinig ang piyok na boses niya. ["—oh, sorry. Medyo pagod lang… kaka-review.”]
Just like before.
[“Gusto ko kasi advanced ako sa… aaralin. So 'yon, warm-up bago ka makapasok sa College. "]
Nothing changed but our bond and relationship as a sister-brother.
[“Look at me—”]
“I can't see you.”
She chuckled, [“stop the sarcasm, li'l bro.”]
“Does that mean… you can’t go with us in Japan?”
[“I’m sorry, bro. Sinisipon din kasi ako. Kung hindi siguro—”]
“Nah, it's okay.” I tightened my grip on the phone. “Pahinga ka na, ate. See you soon.”
[“Thank you, bro. Love ya.”]
I feel like tearing up but shrugged it off. “Yeah.” Pinatay na ni ate ang tawag. She didn't even say 'yeah, see you soon' like usual.
But my tears won't go down, because I felt nothing. Pain? No. Sadness? No. It's like... I'm used to it and... I don't like it.
I sighed once again. Pinakatitigan ko lang 'yong cellphone ko at napailing.
.
“OHAYOU, son.”
I grunted as I nod. “Ohayou,” I greeted back before I chased by the hell.
“Ayos na ba mga gamit mo, anak?” Dad asked. I nodded once again. “Did you bring gadgets?”
I shooked my head, “I will be there to detox not to… chitchat and to brag to those people I left here in the Philippines.”
“You sound like you hated the world, dude,” Shawn pointed out. I just rolled my eyes at him. I almost forgot that my cousins and tito stayed last night here in the house.
“Well, well, well, just make sure you guys didn't left a much more important things.”
“LOOK, this set was cleaned by Jiro.” My dad pointed at his anime figurine collection with a boasting tone. I just shooked my head. Lumuwag ata turnilyo sa pagka-bored, thirty minutes pa lang naman mula nang maghintay kami.
“Really?” Parang nandidiri pa ang mukha ni Shawn nang tanungin 'yon.
“Of course, my first born is not even here, sino mag-lilinis niyan? Multo?”
“Oh, that's creepy.” That's Shaun's voice that made me almost grunted.
“Well, your son improved at cleaning, huh?” Ginaya pa ni Shawn ang tono ng boses ni Tito.
“His ate taught him,” Dad winked. I groaned silently as I looked at them three. I crossed my arms infront if my chest as I wait for Mom.
Binitbit ko na ang mga gamit ko bago pa ako masiraan ng utak sa tatlo. Sakto namang kabababa lang ni Tito habang buhat ang tatlong maleta.
