A few days has passed. The day started just the same for Jimin. She needs to be more careful around Minjeong.
"Jimin!" Minjeong called. Jimin noticed her standing on the door. "come to my office."
"yes, miss." Jimin replied. She then looked at Giselle with worries in her eyes.
"now!" Minjeong shouted again. Jimin quickly followed her.
"is there anything I can help you, miss?" Jimin asked.
"work on this." Minjeong shoved a file to Jimin. Before Jimin could walk out Minjeong called her again. "work here. I don't want you to talk shit about me."
"I need my stuff, miss." Jimin tried to find an excuse.
Minjeong grabbed a box from under her desk.
"use this. It's old but still usable."
With that, Jimin started her work.
"did you hear any rumours about me?" as if Minjeong knew, she asked about it out of the blue.
"no, miss." Jimin replied, not looking up.
"you don't need to lie." Minjeong stood up and walked towards her.
Jimin gulped. She's beyond scared.
"I know everything about you. Even your hard bitter past. Don't think about lying to me." Minjeong put her hand on Jimin's shoulder and squeezed it. "keep up the good work. Don't make me regret it."
Minjeong then left the room. that left Jimin with Lia. Jimin sighed and cupped her face.
"you need a drink?" Lia offered.
"it's okay, miss." Jimin smiled at Lia.
"call me Lia. Don't be scared. She won't do anything as long as you behave."
-
Jimin looked at the time. Hansol should be waiting for her by now. she gathered her stuff and put everything back in the box. She put the box aside and stood up.
"where's that little shit?!" Mr. Kim barged into the room surprising Lia and Jimin.
"she's not here, sir. Please sit down." Lia informed him.
Soon after Minjeong walked in with a hot coffee. She thought she'll have an ordinary day.
"there you are." Mr. Kim walked towards Minjeong and poured the coffee on her shoulder. Minjeong hissed as the hot liquid ran through her shoulder down to her arm and chest.
"the hell was that for!" Minjeong shouted to Mr. Kim face.
"I asked you stop, didn't I? stop roaming around killing people!" Mr. Kim slapped her daughter.
"I didn't kill anyone!" Minjeong gained back her balance. "you killed my mother!"
"that crazy mouth of yours." Mr. Kim then dragged Minjeong by the hair and slammed her on the desk.
Jimin stayed. She froze watching the event.
"who killed your mother? Say that again." Mr. Kim unbuckled his belt. Fold it in half and proceeds to slap Minjeong in every place on her body.
"you! You killed her!" Minjeong lowered herself while covering her face. The then felt a pain on her back.
Kicks after kicks were received by the vulnerable girl. The last hit was on her head. Minjeong tried to keep her eyes open. Instead, she saw black.
-
Minjeong finally opened her eyes. she held the back of her head that's still hurting.
"here. Drink it." Lia put down a glass of water and some meds on the table.
"how long I've been out?" Minjeong sat up. "call Jimin."
"she's already home." Lia sat beside her. "did you kill anyone again?"
"yeah." Minjeong drank the meds.
"when will you stop? This is not healthy." Lia rubbed Minjeong's head.
"when he die, I will stop." Minjeong stood up and took her phone. "I'll be going."
Minjeong then left the company. she drove her car and went to her usual place.
"I thought you couldn't make it." Yujin greeted her.
"who's the opponent?" Minjeong grabbed her training clothes from her locker.
"she's Chaein. I heard she's good you should be careful." Yujin massaged her shoulder.
Minjeong did a few stretches and put on her hand wrap.
"good enough to face me?" Minjeong scoffed.
"this is street fight. She won't show you any mercy."
"then I shouldn't too." Minjeong went to the venue followed by Yujin.
People cheered for her as she waited for her name to be called.
"...and the challenger! Winter!!!" the announcer called.
Minjeong cracked her neck and prepared herself walking towards the ring. She saw Chaein already there.
Then the match started. Minjeong kept in mind that she's more of a defender. Minjeong scanned every movement from her opponent. The way she stands the way she threw punches and kicks. Her stance and her defends moves. Everything was readable for Minjeong.
She managed to swiftly dodge some attacks from her.
"you're tired, aren't you?" Minjeong provoked. "look at your feet, it's unstable. Chin up!" she said looking at Chaein's eyes. once she's distracted Minjeong gave her a good uppercut making her unbalanced.
Minjeong didn't give time for her to recover. She threw jabs and hooks as well as kicks to her abdomen.
"you like that? you want more?" Minjeong gave her an uppercut, hard enough to make her kneel. "that's right. Kneel before me."
Minjeong grabbed Chaein's head and kicked her with her knee. Chaein hugged Minjeong with the rest of her energy.
"you want me to stop? You do?" Minjeong kept on punching her with no intention to stop.
"tapped!" the referee pulled back Minjeong. He then held Minjeong's hand up.
"as expected! Winter did it again!" the announcer commented.
Yujin took a towel from Minjeong's locker.
"what's gotten into you? You look like an animal." Yujin praised her friend.
"that's how I am." Minjeong took glugs of her drink. "I gotta go."
"already? Are you okay?" Yujin asked as she watched Minjeong changed and gathered her stuff.
"headache." Minjeong just gave her a small smile.
