'Incoming call from Helen'
He picked the call quite worried what he was going to hear. At first he heard someone breathing quite loudly.
And then heard her speak. And that's when he realised that she was drunk.
'Hellloooo clayyyy' she said elongating the 'y'
'Camilla where are you right now?'
'We havin smooooothies so we can be smoooooth tommorow. But my mom called and she was angry' she said like a little kid.
Clay could do nothing to help her as he didn't know where she was. 'Why don't you tell me where you are? Then we can talk about your mother.'
'I don't want to talk about mother.' she said like a kid who was in a quarrel with their mother. 'She said i was immature.' she said in a pouty voice.
God what happened to this girl clay thought to himself. She was on the wrong edge today.
'Sometimes people may not like who you are Cami but that doesn't matter. You have to be who you are not what your mother wants you to be.'
'Really?' she asked, like a kid curious for answers.(did i mention kid too much???)
'Yea don't worry about it'
'You called me Cami'
'I did. Sorry about that.'
'No i lime it' she says taking a huge breath afterwards.
He heard her say lime it. He wanted to tease her about it but realised it wasn't the right time.
'Clay why haven't you left yet?'
'What do you mean?'
'Everyone i love except Macie has left me. I had a boyfriend when i was younger but he left me as well. My parents did. My friends did. But you didn't. Why?'
Clay kept quiet for a minute. Maybe it was time. She wouldn't remember it anyway.
'Because you are special and amazing. And.. and I love you.'
There was a long silence and then,
'I love you too Clay. I love you sooo much.'
He froze for a second. She loved him back? That was not what was supposed to happen. He slowly cut the call and began thinking.
He had loved her the moment he had met her. Every second obsessing over her had got him thinking back then, why? He had met so many people but she stood out. And that was why he loved her. She had said it back. But god knows what she really meant.
What he didn't know was she actually meant every word she said.
