Jason POV>

"He survived" was all Jason heard, before he broke out laughing and cheering with the rest of the family. Dr. Valdez looked at everyone has if he had something else to say but he shook his head, telling them, "You guys can't see him now. He's still a bit weak from the surgery, a stray muscle tissue had wrapped around his kidney. It's off now, and he should be working good had new anytime now."

Jason smiled, and hugged Leo, "Thanks doc!"

"No problem boy," Leo said loudly then he whispered in Jason's ear, "You let the kid go didn't you?" Jason nodded.

Giving a small sigh, Valdez went over to the front desk, probably making up a huge story on how the kid escaped. Shrugging Jason continued to celebrate with his family.

The next day Jason went to school, a small spring in his step, but he stopped has he notice a black hood bobbing through the crowd of Juniors. Trying to hide.

Jason made his way through the Juniors and caught Nico's shoulder.

Nico tensed and bolted; Jason had never seen anyone run so fast. "Well this is annoyed," Jason hissed. He just wanted to talk to Nico. But apparently not, the runt was going to pay.

"Yo, man!" shouted Frank, walking over to Jason. "You seem upset..." Frank smirked.

"The little emo ran," Jason sighed.

"Well, that's not very nice," Percy lolled, has he joined the conversation. Percy didn't know really why they picked on Nico, but Percy was quite the simpleton. Not the smartest nut in the case. Percy just followed, he was jock, not a scholar.

Frank on the other hand, enjoyed picking on the little emo, Nico was a little creep, and different.

Jason nodded and said, "Let's go. He's probably by the oak tree again."

Jason let Percy and Frank go first, leaning up against a tree, looking out for any teacher.

Jason heard the sound of bone hitting flesh, gasps of pain, but then what he heard next made him freeze, "Please...stop..." gasped Nico, tears running down his face.

Not once in Jason's life, had he seen Nico cry, not once had Nico ever asked for Jason had his bullies to stop. Jason saw different bruises on Nico, bruises that were already yellowed, too colored to be from now. Narrowing his eyes, Jason noticed every time Percy or Frank kicked the Italian, Nico would gasp as if they were kicking him harder than they were.

"Please," Nico whimpered.

"Guys..." Jason said softly. Percy and Frank looked at him, "We're going to be late, let's go." Giving Nico one last kick Frank sneered, "Fruitcake." Nico's eyes widened and Percy hissed, "What? You'd think I wouldn't tell them about your little confession?"

Jason looked over at Percy confused, and Percy explained, "Little rainbow here confessed he loved me."

Jason's eyes widened, then swallowed, "Let's go guys."

It was lunch, and there was no sign of Nico. Jason walked over to his table, Percy, Frank, Annabeth, Piper, Reyna, Grover, and Hazel. Each one has all taken part on bullying Nico. "Look guys....maybe we should take a little bit of a break from picking on Nico," Jason sighed.

"Why?" Percy asked, running his fingers through his girlfriend's hair: Annabeth.

"I think we've gone a bit too far," Hazel piped up. Her and Piper were close and they were both nature lovers and peaceful. They didn't approve of us beating up Nico.

Everyone looked down at their food, contemplating. "I guess..." Frank sighed, everyone nodded, besides Percy and Annabeth.

"Guys?" Jason asked warily.

"Ok, fine," Percy spat. "But if I see that mistake I can't promise anything."

Jason watched for the head of black hair all day during school, there was nothing, Nico wasn't there.

So during his last hour, Jason went to Pluto asking, "Sir, had Nico Di Angelo been in school at all?"

Pluto looked through the records of attendance on his computer, 'I'm afraid not."

"Sir, am I excuses, I have all my homework and the essay done," Jason said anxious. Pluto looked at Jason with accusation and shook his head 'no.' and shook his head 'no.'

-Time Skip-

After seeing his father, Jason was driving around New York, trying to see if he could get thought traffic.

It was dark out and it was down pouring. "OH COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!" Jason shouted, flipping off the driver in front of him, he was on main street, and everyone was a honking mess.

Jason looked at the traffic, and at the empty part. Turning his car sharply, earning a few cuss words and shouts from other cars, Jason went to the park.

It was an all-nighter, opened all night the park was. Jason got out with his umbrella, and decided to take a walk, letting traffic die down.

Jason looked around, seeing a bridge, crossing the lake, thirty feet above the water. Smiling at the sight, he walked over, but then froze when he saw someone standing there.

That someone ducked under the railing of the bridge.
