Nico POV.

Nico went down the stairs, hair dripping wet, a new sweatshirt and sweatpants, which he stole from Jason's drawers.

"Nico? You up already? I'm sorry my mother called telling me I should go meet her at a restaurant."

Nico's ears perked up, he'd been only at a restaurant once before in America. But....after the accidents Nico and Hector couldn't afford to go to a restaurant.

"No, Jason I'm fine. I think it was the effects of a sleeping flu. I'll stay here, go on and go with your family-"

Jason cut Nico off. "No, you're going to take these," Jason held out two tablets and a glass of water, "and then you're going to come with me. I'll see if Thal has any jeans and a dress shirt for you to wear. You guys are about the same size. "

"How old is she?" Nico asked.

"12," Jason snickered.

Nico looked away and blushed, but walked over to Jason and took the medicine. Gulping them both down in one foul swoop.

"Oh, and one more thing," Jason snickered, as if he knew he was about to make Nico very uncomfortable.

"What?" Nico asked nervously.

Jason held out a cream case; Nico instantly recoiled, knowing he would have to take off his sweatshirt.

"Come here, we're both guys," Jason snickered.

For some reason that really hurt Nico's feelings, and he looked down. Didn't Jason remember the incident with Percy?

Jason saw the hurt in Nico's eyes and gasped, "Gods Nico! I'm sorry Nico!!! I totally forgot!!" he said it with extreme sincerity.

Nico nodded, and slowly took off the sweat shirt, leaving the sleeves to cover his arms.

"Turn around please," Jason commanded quietly.

Nico did so and felt self-conscious that someone had to see him like this. Jason's warm hand trailed scars and then gently traced the gash on his back. Then something cold replaced his hand on Nico's back. Nico shivered, the crème was cold.

"Would you tell me how this happened...?" Jason asked quietly.

Nico gave a hidden smirk. Well now at least he didn't have to worry about his protecting his father from being arrested for child-abuse. "Let's just say he's a collection of whips."

Jason stiffened and accidently applied the cream too roughly and Nico gave out a yelp. "I'm sorry," applying the cream softer, "It upsets me that...that you suffered so much and I helped add to that pain. How you will forgive us is beyond me."

Nico turned and looked up at Jason, "What are you talking about? I never was mad at you guys. There's nothing to forgive. You were all going through high-school days. Don't worry about it."

Jason looked at Nico with wide eyes. And thought to himself, 'he's so innocent, so pure. But so scarred. How could one live though this? How could someone deal with this?'

The answer to the last question was on Nico's wrists.

"Jason, don't broad on it," Nico smiled, then he asked, "I think I can apply to my stomach."

Jason nodded and then said, "I'll go find us some clothes. Then we'll leave. The restaurant is a bit of a drive."

Nico stiffened a bit, he hated car rides. Especially long ones.

Jason noticed this but didn't ask any questions.

He would have time in the car ride.
