Justin's POV
One day I think I might, just maybe figure out my purpose in this world. One day I pray to find the reason God is keeping me around for so long. If he continues to throw curveballs to change my life story why doesn't he just take it all away together? Wouldn't that just be easier? He could save everyone the wonder and hate if he just made a simple decision.
But, no.
Jaxon, is that suppose to ring a bell?
The little boy still holds me in his arms and I push him away. His eyes are glazed when I stand up.
"I don't know you, kid."
I begin to walk down the hall in the opposite direction I was just headed in leading the blonde boy, to the elevator. I'll just take him to the front desk and have them take care of this lost child.
His parents must be pretty shitty if they let him wander off alone.
Crazier people than me could have found him. But apparently, he was looking for my sorry ass...
Jaxon trails behind me quickly, skipping and hopping to keep up with me, "Yes you do."
"No I don't."
"Yes you do."
"No."
"Yes."
"No," I spin around so quickly the little boy bumps into my thigh. I squat down to his level again, "Why are you so stubborn?"
This little kid aggravates me more than Selena and Asher ever did. He's fucking adorable, but annoying as fuck.
Jaxon folds his arms and sticks out his tongue, "I'm telling Dad."
I laugh, "You do that, Jason." We don't have the same dad. His must be some retard who can't keep track of his children.
"Jaxon." The little boy insists and I roll my eyes.
"Your sister is here?" I ask suddenly as I push the button waiting for the elevator to hurry up so I can be alone looking for Selena once more. Jason-or Jaxon nods.
"Yep," he rubs his eyes, "she is waiting for you too, Justin."
Great, I got a whole messed up child club looking for me.
"I bet she is," thankfully the little boy doesn't pick up on the sarcasm in my voice. Just as the elevator opens, I am about to step in when Selena appears inside.
My heart skips a beat and something flashes behind her eyes. Something I have come to known as pain and wonder. What happened?
Her eyes flash from mine down to my tag along.
"Justin," she breathes out, eyeing the boy in uncertainty, "What are you doing with this little boy?"
I shrug, "Helping him find his dad."
She nods, "Oh," she doesn't move toward me or move her eyes off of Jason. We all seem to have frozen and I move my hand up to touch the back of my neck uncomfortably.
"Babe?" I ask her, extending my arm to stop the closing elevator doors.
Selena seems to snap out of it, "Oh, right, Justin I'll take him," she moves toward Jaxon, "Go back to the room, I'll be there in a minute."
