Jan's POV~
"So, Beth" I said as the 7 of us packed.
She was giving us plenty of clothes.
"You said you know where we cam from?"
"Yeah" she nodded.
"Care to share?"
"Lily" she began. "Your parents lived in one of those neigbourhoods of trailour homes in Missouri. I regret to say they were drug addicts and smokers. one of the scientists found out and offered a large sum of money for you"
"And they said yes" Lily finished, looking flustered.
"Harry-you came from Cheshire, England. You're parents got divorced, but neither could afford to keep you. Same ending-lots of money"
I saw the disappointment in his face.
Beth looked at Niall. "Niall, you're from a very small village in Mullingar, Ireland. Like Harry, your parents couldn't afford to keep you, so they dumped you on a street in London"
Niall looked away.
"Louis, your parents divorced and your dad kept you. He was dedicated to science, so he gave you to the MSA for research. You're from Doncaster. Zayn, you're from Bradford, England. Or we think so. The MSA found you starving in an alley. Liam, you're from Wolverhampton. Your family and their neighbours were feuding, and their neighbours sold you to the MSA before killing your parents"
I stood by Liam as we packed our suitcases and I slipped my hand in his. His eyes were all watery.
"What about me?" I asked.
"Your father and mother donated you" she said hesitantly. "But they loved you" Beth looked at the wall.
"Who are they?" I asked.
"Jannice..." she looked troubled.
"WHO IS MY MUM AND DAD, BETH?!"
"John-MSA director-and Dr. Ruiz"
My eyes grew. I was so mad. Not at Dr. Ruiz-she seemed nice. But I was mad at John. He was so mean to me all these years! I didn't know what to say.
"So I guess that's what Michael meant when he said he was my brother..." I finally muttered.
Liam squeezed my hand. "I'm sorry, Jan"
"I refuse to believe that he's my dad!" I snapped at Beth.
"Jannice" she looked solemn. "You can't extinguish the truth."
Extenguish...EXTENGUISHER!
"Liam!" I grabbed his shoulders. "I saw me as an Extenguisher in the mirror! It said I was one, too. Maybe that's because Michael is my brother!"
"Half brother" Beth corrected. "You were born to different mothers"
"This is all so darn confusing" I groaned. "And how the heck am I supposed to save the world?!"
"Maybe by helping on this global warming mission"
I looked at Lily, and she smiled.
"Fine"

Later that day, we all filed onto the private plane. Don't askewhere Beth got it.
It was concerningly closed in and I had no idea why we couldn't just fly the good ol' fashioned way. But what-ev. It was ok, though.
There was plenty of food, two couches, and a laptop for watching movies.
I sat in between Niall and Liam, holding both their hands. Lily and Harry were on the other sofa watching some romance/comedy and Zayn and Louis were raiding the snacks.Everytime Lily looked at me or Liam, chills ran up my spine. What if all she said was true?
"It's all true" she frowned at me.
"Can't I have any private thoughts?!" I yelled.
Standing up, she locked eyes with me and walked over.
"Jannice. 'm serious. I can't help it. ou have o get used to being without Liam"
"I refuse to believe that" I hugged Liam's arm tightly.
"It's better you knew now, then suddenly surprise you. He'll die in dark. He'll die in damp. He'll die by pressure"
"What the heck" I glared. "That's not even a rhyme."
"It wasn't supposed to be" she rolled her eyes. "That's what I heard in my vision"
"Tell your vision I said 'shut up'" I scowled.
Shrugging, she sat back by Harry.
It's going to work out.
Great. Just what I needed.
Long time no talk, Voice.
Everything will be OK.
Oh, yeah, hunky dinky! I thought back. Liam's going to die, the flock will separate, and i'll fall. What can be better?!
Harden your heart.
I gulped. That was new...
Prepare for changes. It added.
"Whoah!" Louis squealed peering out the window. "Check it out!"
Niall gripped my hand. "Take me to the window."
"Sure" I stood up and lead him over.
The view was beautiful-although I wished I was really flying.
"What is it like?" Niall pressed his face to the glass.
"I see forests" I began. "Big rocks. There's a lake, and I see itsy houses in the distance."
"Is it beautiful?" he turned to me with is fingers lightly on his chest.
"Very" I answered. "Not as pretty as when we're really flying, though."
"Jannice?" he gripped my hand.
"Yeah?"
His eyes looked determined. "I hate being blind"
A lump formed in my throat, and I took his other hand. "I know it must be hard."
He nodded. "I, mean, when you're in a new palce, you can see at least dark corners. I have to feel. It's so confusing and frustrating"
"I'm sorry" I said sadly.
"I just-I just wish I were normal. Stuck at a regular school, able to SEE the board. Smart. Loved. 100 human. And I wish I had a family"
"You ARE smart, and I love you" I said. "And WE'RE your family. We ALL love you"
"Even though I'm blind...?"
"Of 'course" I wrapped my arms around him.
He started to pull away, but then hugged me back. "I love you, too"
I let him go, then pecked his round cheek.
His pale face turned red, and I laughed.
