Forever or Never

The Save a World, or to Lose It

This is the last chappie, but the sequel, which is really short, is called Reconstructed, and that'll be up like tomorrow, or so. So read that, too =) The 8 kids have a new mission, and there just might be 3 more bird kids (;

Jan's POV~

We all looked at the calm blue sky.

"Harry?" Lily asked. "What?"

"Oh, no" he helped Lily up. "It looks like fire, only it's in the sky. I see balls falling. Fireballs. And a storm"

"Everyone" I said standing up. "Harry can see super far, remember? Now stay calm. I want all of you to join Dr. Ruiz and John in the caves. Stay there until everything's peaceful. Do NOT come out, no matter what"

THe sky burst and made the ground shake.

"Run! I'll get Liam!"

They all ran, but Lily grabbed my arm. "I'm coming with you."

"Get in the cave, Leader!" I instructed, running toward my tree house.

"NO!"

"You stubborn child!" I cried, but she ignore me.

I picked her up and flew to the porch.

"Liam!" I yelled.

He looked up. "Jannice....I have an expiration date" he gestured to his neck.

Out the window, awful cracking sounds shot around and fireballs began raining down.

"Liam, we have to get to the caves!" I held his hand. "Maybe we can turn death around!"

He ran to the window and peered out.

Fire was falling and the waves were upset.

"What do we do?" I asked Lily.

It was clearly to late to go outside.

She looked at both of us, and a tear slipped from her eyes. She wrapped her arms around me tightly and I hugged her back, realizing what was about to happen. The rest of the flock was safe in the caves, and I knew in my heart Lily would somehow be ok. If they were OK, I was happy. A tear escaped my eyes, too.

"Goodbye, Jannice" she gripped me.

"Bye, Lily" I squeezed my eyes shut.

Loud noises crashed even louder outside as Lily pulled away. She kissed me on the cheek, then squeezed Liam's hand. Without another word, she jumped out the window into the soft sand.

Liam held my hand and we sat down in the doorway-me in his lap. The ocean waves were maddening, and I smiled. I'd accomplished what I was created for.

Liam wrapped his wings around me, and some of Lil's words rolled back: Liam hasn't really died yet/I would die/Two will fall/I will die wrapped up and happy.

And here I was-wrapped up in Liam's wings, happy, yet traumatized.

He held me tightly as the wave grew larger. We knew what was coming.

Liam's eyes were red, and he looked down, p lacing his lips on mine. Then the wave was over us, crashing violently and putting us under water. We fell...

Lily's POV~

I was covered in water, BUT-I had gils. My hair flew around my head as I desperately swam toward the surface.

By the time I got up, I saw our tree houses were crumbled. Most of the trees were uprooted, and somewhere in the ocean, and everything was calm. The caves were untouched, and I smiled as the flock, John, Dr. Ruiz, and Gwen appeared-unharmed. They smiled and waved.

I could..see...or was this a vision? It all faded....

"Harry!" I called, seeing only darkness again.

"I'm coming, Babe!

I was swept off the groud and clutched.

"You're OK" he was crying.

"Harry" tears spilled from my eyes as I clung to his neck. "Oh, Harry!"

His head was buried in my neck, and he was crying.

"I love you" he sobbed.

I squeezed my eyes shut. "I love you, too"

"Jannice and Liam" Zayn flew up. 'where are they?"

They're dead. came John's voice in my head.

"They're...retired"

Silence fell upon us. We knew we were safe. We knew everyone but us was dead. The world was lost, except this little island of refuge. The 99% Plan had turned into the 100% plan. Only 3 humans were left like I'd predicted. Then us. Niall and I were still blind, and my wings were clipped, but we were OK.

"Jannice and Liam were also created to teach" John's voice said from below.

I felt arry fly down and land.

"To teach you" he touched my forehead. "And you" I assumed he was speaking to Harry. "You two were created to carry one those responsibilities. It's time o multiply, to produce. You must start your own flock. Together we can rebuild the earth. Gwen and Louis-the same goes for you" Harry's cheek pressed on mine, and I felt his dimply smile.

"We can do this...together"

"We stick together" I added, swallowing a ginormous lump in my throat. "No mater what...."
