Jan's POV~
It was nearly morning when Liam and I arrived at Dr. Ruiz' house.
Surprised, she grinned when se opened the door. "Trisha!"
"Sr. Ruiz!" I beamed. "Where's Gwen?"
"Sleepover" she sighed. "C'mon in"
Liam and I entered, and I could tell he was crawling with nerves.
Over home made sugar cookies, I explained to the docter how the chip could be putting me in danger, and my 'brother Jason'
She warned me again about the loss in my right arm, but I was determined.
So she took us to her office and I stretched out on the hospital bed with Liam standing by my side. The smell of disinfectant scared me, and so did her whitecoat and turquoise exam gloves.
First I was drugged, and I really wish I wasn't, for certain reasons...
Liam's POV~
It was so hard to watch this doctor cutting open Jannice's arm, but this was what she wanted, I guess.
"Liam" Jan looked at me during the operation.
"Yeah?"
"Stay here"
"I'm right here"
"Don't go"
"I'm not" I assured her.
"Liam, don't leave!" she pleaded.
"Jan, I won't, I'm right here"
"kay, just don't go"
"I'm not..."
That what drugs do to you, alright.
"Liam!" she reached out an arm. "I love you! I love you! I loooooooooooooove you!"
I gripped her hand. "OK, Jan"
And that was how it was for maybe 45 minutes...
Once we were done, and Jannice was sober, Dr. Ruiz told her to move her fingers.
I watched intently. Nothing.
"Move them" Dr. Ruiz repeated.
"I am!" she frowned.
"Oh, dear" the doctor looked flustered.
"I'm sorry, Jannie" I helped her sit up.
"It's OK...it's what I wanted" she sighed and stared at her right arm.
I was proud to how well she held herself together.
"Ready to head back?" I asked after awhile.
She nodded.
"There IS a bright side" I held her left hand as we headed out.
"Yeah?"
"You looooooooooooove me!" I imitated her, then pecked her cheek.
"Shut UP" she snapped, and I laughed.
We walked outside the building and decided just to rest our wings for a bit while we strolled.
But this was too easy. With our luck, I mean.
"BOO!"
Jan's POV~
I jumped and went to fighting stance as I whizzed around.
MICHAEL.
Joys...
I looked down and saw I was only HALFWAY into fight stance.
UGH.
Yes, my feet were lockin in 80/20 T-Stance, and my left arm was in an outside block, but my right arm was limp at my side instead of winged out-fist turned up and pointing at my lift elbow.
"Are you injured?" Michael asked, smirking.
"Fight me, not her" Liam stepped forward.
"No!" I argued. "It's MY battle!"
I threw a punch at him, and that started things on fire.
Trust me-it was definitely a liability to have one arm swinging freely. I got knocked out of breathe multiple times, but managed to knock him down with a cresent kick.
"You're going own!" I yelled jumpin on his, then sitting straddled on his stomach.
I put my hand on his neck and started squeezing.
"Wait" he squirmed, but I kept pushing. "You wouldn't kill your own brother!"
But then he went motionless.
"You did it..." Liam looked amazed.
"Did he say 'brother'?" I asked confused.
He shrugged. "We know we're test tube babies"
"Remember what Beth said?" I cocked my head. "She knows where we came from""Wchich doesn't mean we didn't come from test tubes"
"I guess" I shrugged. "I guess I just want real parents. A real family."
"You have us"
"Apparently not for long according to Miss Fortune Teller. Maybe we should get her her own tent?"
"You'll always have me atleast" he smiled.
"Until you die?" I looked him in the eye.
He didn't answer. He just kissed my forehead and started flying back.
I looked down at my hand and flezed my fingers...they moved...
