First Contact

This is it, our seventh test, it's been a very interesting decade for all of us, ever since we discovered the crystals, it's been a wild ride. And even though test #6 was mostly a failure, we're positive to get at least something interesting like we've done all the other times.

Modifications:

We know all of our modifications will be sure to make something appear as we've been studying these crystals and their magical and scientific properties for a long time now. And we know A-Sync is gonna find out all about it sooner or later.

The system was about to be fired up, and all the scientists knew to be back at a safe distance as the energy the system was burning was bound to burn at extreme temperatures. And on June 12, 2021 at 5:27 AM, the system was fired up for the seventh time.

The large ring in the middle of the room filled with metal began to glow white whilst becoming more transparent. Everything seemed promising at first, but the strange crystals inside a nearby case hooked up to the large ring were vibrating and shaking and that's when everything began to go haywire.

After a few minutes, the light from the portal had now become blinding and alarms were going off as if the scientists little experiment was about to shake the facility apart. And everyone was scrambling to try and shut the system off before something went wrong, but there was one man who would not let that happen, and he demanded to keep the test running as he knew if they let this go on, they would accomplish the main goal that they had been trying to achieve for years.

"WE NEED TO SHUT IT OFF NOW!"

"NO YOU FOOLS! KEEP GOING!"

"SIR ARE YOU INSANE!?"

"IF THIS GOES ON, ALL OF US WILL DIE!"

"NO! WE CANNOT LET THIS DOWN! WE MUST KEEP THIS PROJECT GOING!"

"SCREW THE PROJECT! I QUIT!"

"THAT'S FINE WITH ME! WE JUST NEED THIS TO KEEP GOING!"

"SIR THIS IS NOT SAFE! IF WE DON'T ACT FAST, WE WON'T BE ABLE TO STOP THIS! YOU'RE PUTTING US ALL AT RISK!"

But while the man in charge was segueing with the several scientists in the room, things were about to get out of control as the system would soon be overloaded and then they just would not be able to stop it. And eventually, everyone had to brace for impact as they barricaded themselves up.

But eventually, the system had been so worked up that there was nothing anyone could do. What they could do, was sit and watch as the light engulfed the whole room and then everything went black for the many people in the nearby rooms.

It must've been at least a few hours later before the dust finally settled, and there were only a few that were awake as the rest been knocked out cold. The room looked like it had indeed seen better days. When the case carrying the crystals were examined, it turned out that they weren't there. But when the group of people that were awake went over to the ring, they were baffled and amazed.

The ring's metal had been converted into an actual portal with what could be described as a white transparent filter separating them from what appeared to be an underground cave system.

"So, Jonathan, you said you wanted to quit this project. Or have you changed your mind?"

The scientist the man was referring to could only shake his head as he stared in awe at what the test had uncovered.

"I must say. One big leap for us. One giant leap for mankind."

Over the next week, the facility had to be repaired as it had been heavily damaged from the energy created by their test which did much more that power down the entire facility. And it would take the scientists another week before actually venturing out into the cave system they had uncovered. And they were absolutely marveled by it and all the gems and newfound materials they had come across.

But that wasn't all they had discovered as they ventured outside the cave system to find many strange creatures out and about. They would also set up camps all across the places that had discovered on the island.

A-Sync had certainly struck gold when they found Kipoiwa. Yet what they had actually done was something that should be a story for another day.

But either way, that day was special.

A-Sync had achieved first contact.
