Desired Hatred

Chapter 4

I look at myself in the mirror before I move to straighten out some of the wrinkles in my wedding dress. I was getting married today. Married someone I barely knew. Married to someone who barely knows me.

I turn around hearing the door to the room I was in opening. In walks my mom carrying my bouquet of flowers. She gasps seeing me for the first time all dressed for the wedding.

"Oh Starlight. Look at you" My mom says tearing up.

"Oh mom don't cry," I say grabbing her hands.

"How is a mother not to cry on her daughter's wedding day?" She asks wiping the tears away.

"This is true," I say putting a fake smile on my face.

I turn back towards the mirror as my mom walks behind me to help adjust my veil. "Listen I know this is hard on you. Going through with this, but your father and I just want what's best for you" My mom says.

"You want what's best for the company. If you wanted what's best for me then you wouldn't be forcing me into this" I snap.

"Y/N do not give me that tone. Nelson is a great man. He will care for you well" My mom says harshly.

I roll my eyes slightly "Mom I don't care if he can care for me. His company is awful and you know this. Experimenting on his patients. Testing on Patients is different than Experimenting." I say.

My mom grabs my arm harshly, "if you do anything to stop this wedding your father and I will disown you. Do you hear me?" My mom says to me.

"I hear you," I say tearing up.

"Good. Now your father and I rented a resort suite for you at the really nice resort you like for your honeymoon. It's a month-long stay. I expect you to be pregnant by the time you get back" My mom says causing me to tense up.

"Mom!" I yell.

"I don't want to hear it Y/N." My mom says. "Now it's time to go your father is waiting for you."

My mom leads to my father who was waiting for me. I grab my father's arm before he leads me down the aisle toward Nelson. Nelson makes eye contact with me and smiles. My heart fluttered slightly seeing him in a tux. He was handsome all dressed up. When we reached Nelson he held out his hand to me allowing me to take it. I step up next to him.

"You look beautiful" Nelson whispers.

"Thank you" I whisper back. "You look handsome yourself"

Nelson smiles as he pulls me slightly closer as the priest started to talk. "Are you okay?" Nelson whispers.

"Yeah. Just got threatened to be disowned by my mom earlier" I whisper back.

Nelson sighs before he turns to the priest.

"Dearly Beloved, we are gathered here today in the presence of these witnesses, to join Nelson Syphus and Y/N L/N in matrimony commended to be honorable among all; and therefore is not to be entered into lightly but reverently, passionately, lovingly and solemnly." The priest says "Into this - these two persons present now come to be joined. If any person can show just cause why they may not be joined together - let them speak now or forever hold their peace."

I look back at my parents who were watching me making sure I stayed quiet. I sigh looking back towards the priest.

"Let's start with the groom's vows," The priest says turning to Nelson.

Nelson grabs my hands gently. "I, Nelson Syphus, take you, Y/N L/N, to be my wife, my friend, my faithful partner, and my love from this day forward. In the presence of our family and friends, I offer you my solemn vow to be your faithful partner in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad, and in joy as well as in sorrow. I promise to love you unconditionally, to support you in your goals, to honor and respect you, to laugh with you and cry with you, and to cherish you for as long as we both shall live." Nelson says to me.
