Chapter 25

Nelson's POV

"Do you have everything sir?" Ben asks me.

"I should." I say before we head out to check out.

When we reach the waiting room, my eyes quickly land on my wife who was asleep in one of the chairs in such an uncomfortable position.

"She refused to leave" Ben says to me. "She's been here since you kicked her out of the room."

I sigh as I sign myself out of the hospital. I make my way over to her. I kneel down in front of her and gently put my hand on her head. She was hot to the touch. I instantly started to worry as I noticed how pale she looked.

"You said she's been here this whole time? Has she ate anything?" I asksed.

"Her parents brought her food but im not sure she ate anything" Ben explains.

I gently shake her in attempts to wake upm Her tired eyes opened slowly before meeting mine.

Y/N's POV

I open my eyes as someone shook me gently. My gaze quickly landed in Nelson who was knelt in front of me. A sob leaves my throat as I throw my arms around him tightly. Nelson quickly hugs me back pulling me against him.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I didn't.... i didn't-"

"I know." Nelson says. "After I kicked you out Ben explained to me that Gary did it on his own that you had only told Gary you wanted to spend more time with me"

I cling to Nelson's shirt afraid he would disappear. "I thought I lost you" I sobbed.

"You will never have to worry about that my dear" Nelson says "Benjamin I need you you to do something for me"

"What is it sir?" Ben asks.

"I need you to write up a document shutting down Syntec for good" Nelson says.

I pull away quickly to look at Nelson. "Are you sure?" I ask.

Nelson wipes the tears off my face. "More than sure. Almost dying made me realize that you and Natalia are more important to me than my company. If I died because of this company you two would be all alone."

I smile at him as I grab his face gently. "My life would never be the same without you by my side" I say to him.

"My company will never define me. My love for you will define me from now on" Nelson says to me.

"I love you" I says quickly. "With my whole heart Nelson. I love you"

"And I love you. With my whole heart I love you" Nelson says to me. I pull him into a deep kiss. Nelson quickly kisses me back. "Now let's go home. I miss my daughter"

I stop him before we leave "Nelson? How do you feel about another Syphus?" I ask.

Nelson looks at me with wide eyes. Before grabbing my hand practically dragging me from the hospital. "Let's go. First food, then baby"

I couldn't help my laugh at him.

My heart for the first time felt full. Nelson had his full attention on me and our family. His heart was finally in the right place and it would stay in the right place for the rest of his days.

Nelson and I did end up having another baby. A boy to be exact. Wayland Syphus. Natalia is growing up so fast and is looking more and more like her father. She is even smarter than both of us. Life could not be more perfect until years later when our past slowly started to show up again in an old unit of Syntec.

It was only a matter of time till Deborah's precious project 863 found out about Nelson. They would be coming for answers and I will be on the front line ready to protect Nelson and my family from what may be uncovered from Syntec time and what may be coming from other timelines in the universe.
