Desired Hatred

Chapter 13

"Nelson I'm fine," I say as I get ready for today. 

"No you're not you have been sick all morning," Nelson says from the doorway of our bedroom. 

"It'll pass. I can't just stay home from work" I say walking over to him. 

"Yes, you can. It's my company and I can give you the day off" Nelson says grabbing my arms gently. 

"And what do you expect me to do all day?" I ask looking up at him.

"Relax. Read a book? I don't care what you do just please stay home for me" Nelson says giving me a pleading look. 

"Fine only if you stay home with me," I say looking up at him. 

"Baby I wish I could but I have big meetings today," Nelson says. 

"Autumn can handle them. We hired her to do that because we knew there would be days we couldn't come in" I say. 

"She's still new. Do you think she can handle it?" Nelson asks. 

"I think you need to put more faith in our assistant," I say to him. 

"Alright. Let me call her but if she needs me to come in, then I'll be going on alright?" Nelson says. I nod quickly smiling. "Get back in bed. I'll be back after I call Autumn" 

I change back into more comfortable clothes before climbing into bed. I pick up a book I had been reading and open it up to wear my bookmark was. I read silently as I waited for Nelson to come back. Nelson walks into the room his phone pressed to his ear. 

"We really appreciate it, Autumn. I'm sure Y/N will bring you in some baked goods as a thank you" Nelson says as he climbs into bed next to me. Nelson soon gets off the phone setting it aside. "Autumn is gonna cover for us today. She will let us know if she needs me to come in" 

"I told you she could do it," I say smiling.

"I know. I should put more faith in her. You did pick her out after all" Nelson says pulling me into his side. "What are you reading?" 

"Baby care books. Gotta prepare for this little one somehow" I say.

Nelson smiles as he reads over my shoulder. "I guess I should pick up that book after you then," Nelson says. 

"Or I can read it out loud to you," I say looking at him. 

"I love when you read to me," Nelson says. 

I smile as I start to read aloud from the book to Nelson. He wraps his arms around me gently so he run his fingers over my belly which was now finally showing. I knew despite everything Nelson has done for me there was a small part of me that was still cautious about him. I hoped that one day my mind would be able to see what my heart sees. My heart knew Nelson was going to take care of me no matter what but my mind still wondered about the unknown ahead of us, especially now with Wesley's advances to get me to turn on Nelson

Nelson's head drops onto my shoulder as he falls asleep. I giggle as I look at Nelson as he sleeps on my shoulder. I move to lay down with Nelson laying on my shoulder. I put my book aside before snuggling a bit closer to Nelson. Nelson tightens his hold on me slightly. 

"Thank you for loving me," I whisper slightly before I allow myself to fall asleep in Nelson's arms.
