"Alright let's go," Nelson says practically dragging me out of the door.
Nelson and I were headed to an ultrasound appointment in order to find out the gender of our baby. I had been in the bathroom all morning with nausea so I wasn't exactly thrilled to be dragged out of the house this morning. Nelson helps me into the car before excitedly walking to get to the driver's side.
"You seem excited," I say smiling as he starts driving down the road towards the hospital for our appointment.
"Of course I am. You seem not so excited" Nelson says smiling at me.
"I have been in the bathroom all morning because of your son or daughter. They were making me nauseous," I grumble at him.
Nelson reaches over and rubs my growing belly gently. We could finally visibly see a bump forming now. I shake my head smiling feeling the familiar flutter of the baby moving. Nelson pulls into the parking lot before getting out of the car and helping me out. We walk in and let know receptionist know we were there. After about 10 minutes we were called back by a Nurse.
"How are we feeling today?" The nurse asks
"Tired and Nauseous" I answer.
"And moody" Nelson answers causing me to elbow him in the ribs.
The nurse laughs slightly, "All very normal and very healthy signs. Let's have you hop up on the table so we can listen to baby and see how things are going. We are looking at the gender today as well correct?" The nurse says.
I sit on the table before laying back on it "Correct" I answer moving my shirt a bit.
"Alright as always the gel is gonna be cold," The nurse says before she lays the gel on my belly. She moves to press the ultrasound wand onto my belly. The sound of my baby's heartbeat fills the room causing me to smile. "I think that is the strongest heartbeat I have ever heard before"
"Strong like their parents," The doctor says walking in. "Good Morning Mr. and Mrs. Syphus how are we feeling today."
"Tired and Nauseous" I answer smiling before shooting a quick glare at Nelson to keep him quiet.
"Good, all very normal." The doctor says looking at the monitor over the nurse's shoulder. "Baby seems to be growing well. Measuring ahead of schedule actually. Let's see if we can find out the gender. The nurse may need to prod your belly a bit until we can get a good angle."
The nurse moves the rod around allowing as to get a different angle of the baby growing in my belly. She points to the screen whispering to the doctor a bit. The doctor nods smiling before whispering back to the nurse. I watch them take a screenshot of the screen before moving the rod away from my belly completely.
"Congrats you two. You have a very healthy baby girl growing in there" The doctor says to us.
"It's a girl?" I ask sitting up quickly out of excitement.
"I have a daughter?" Nelson asks before looking at me. "You are giving me a daughter. You are an extraordinary human being" Nelson kisses me deeply.
"I'll get you two the pictures we took today and you can be on your way," The nurse says before leaving with the doctor.
Nelson smiles at me lovingly. I smile since I could see so much love in this man's eyes and it made my heart sore. I pull him into another deep kiss.
"I love you" I whisper when I pull away.
"I love you" Nelson whispers back before moving to my belly. "And I love you little Natalia Rose"
