Second chances

Kyra's POV

                                 2 Months Later

I sat down in my office holding my still flat tummy and wondered how come I still couldn't get pregnant. Me and David had been trying since that night he asked me 2 months ago but it just hadn't happened. I went back to work after David opened his home out to me and I guess now I had officially moved in there.

I hadn't heard from Jayden since the night I left his apartment and I had no desire to hear from him again. David had helped me buy new stuff to replace everything that I had lost. It took a lot of protesting on my part but he finally convinced me to let him buy me things.

I only agreed in the condition that we go to the shops together and buy everything instead of getting it online. He was not on board with that idea but realised it was the only way I'd agree to let him buy me anything.

He looked bored and annoyed the entire time and kept asking me when we would leave. Every time I would say not yet, he would pout a little and I found that so cute. When we were done, we put the bags in the car and went out for food. He was happier then than he had been all day and he held my hand as we walked to the restaurant.

We looked like a couple, but nothing had been made official yet. We'd only known each other for a little over 3 months and so much had happened. I never would have imagined that I'd be one of those people that get themselves into situations like this. But everything about David consumed and drove me at maximum speed and I couldn't help but crash into him.

But now I sat in my office and started thinking how come he hasn't officially asked me to be his girlfriend? How come he hadn't told me he loves me? Was he faking all of his actions and just stringing me along? Nah, he can't be. I refuse to let myself believe that.

I was still deep in thought when a soft knock rang through my office and Tiffany popped her head in. "Come have lunch with me, and stop daydreaming about you know who" she whispered the past part. She was the only other person in the office who knew about me and David.

I had to tell her when I came back. She thought something had happened to me because I had been absent from work for a while just after starting which was unusual. She said she obsessed over it for days until her boyfriend, Lorenzo told her that I was fine and living with David. I asked her how he got that information and she shrugged and said Lorenzo said "he has his ways". I wondered if I should be worried about this Lorenzo guy but Tiff assured me he was a good guy and she was happy with him.

We walked downstairs and had our lunch while talking about our lives. She seemed really happy with the guy she was with and he was treating her like a princess. I told her I was happy for her and that she deserved all the happiness in the world.

She asked how things with me and David were going and I shrugged, "we're fine".

She looked at me straight into the eyes and said, "I think we've shared enough to not lie to each other Kyra, what's going on? Did he do something?"

I let my shoulders drop a little and shook my head, "no he hasn't done anything and that's what's frustrating. I live in his house, and we act like a couple but he still hasn't made things official. I mean he asked me to have his baby just a month after knowing me and everything about our relationship has been rushed, except this. Should I be worried?".

"I don't know Kyra, I think you need to tell him how you feel, he probably doesn't think any of this matters to you, but it clearly does and I think you need to talk to him about it" she advised.

" I know you're right but I'm afraid of what he'll say if I ask. What if the reason he hasn't asked is because I still can't have a baby and he thinks I'm infertile?" I replied with half a tear falling out.

"How long have you guys been trying?" she asked.

"For about 2 months now" I responded.

She reached out and grabbed my hand, "listen Kyra, that's not that long and it really doesn't mean you're infertile and I don't think he'd have a problem if you were. I've seen the way that man looks at you and I know he wouldn't risk losing you over something like that. There's plenty of options nowadays in regards to having children and I know he'd be willing to explore them with you".

I nodded my head because I knew she was right and forced out a small smile and she squeezed my hand a little tighter in response.

We finished our lunch and went back to work. I felt a bit better and I knew I would have to talk to David tonight when we got home.

At 5pm he barged into my office and had the biggest and silliest smile on his face. I raised an eyebrow in question.

"Hey, can't a guy be happy that he gets to go home with the most beautiful woman in the world" he said sweetly.

I chuckled and replied, "well I guess he can".

He reached his hand out to me and said, "come on princess, I've got big plans for us tonight".
