When I got to my 8am Biology lecture, Jake was sitting in his usual seat holding two coffees. He was wearing a pair of white shorts with gray vertical stripes, gray birks, and a gray t-shirt that was almost too short on him. He was impossibly cute with his hair messy and down. I took my seat beside him, and he smiled. "Good morning, Quinn," he whispered before passing me a cup. I took a sip and smiled. "Did I get it right?" He asked as he blushed lightly.

"It's perfect," I replied softly. "Good morning, Jake," I added with a smile before pulling my laptop out for class.

"We're going to do Friday's a little different in this class...I want you all to pair up and review notes from this week. We will have a quiz on Monday," the professor announced before he sat down at his desk and started to read a book he had brought.

"Wanna be my partner?" I asked Jake when I turned back to face him. He grinned and nodded as he pulled out his laptop and shifted his weight so he was leaning towards me. We began to just compare our notes before deciding to make our own PowerPoint.

"I always find it easier to study if I'm listening to music," he said shyly as he held out an earbud. I accepted it and placed it in my left ear. "Do you have any songs you want to hear?" He asked as he pulled up his Spotify. I shook my head before leaning in to watch him scroll through his library. He finally just hit shuffle, I guess unable to decide.

We worked for 30 minutes or so, and were pretty much done with our PowerPoint. I clicked through it once more, scanning to make sure we didn't miss anything. Between the two of us, I was actually really confident in how comprehensive it turned out.

"I fucking love this song," Jake whispered when the song changed. I smiled at his excitement, and he started humming along quietly.

When the song ended, we started to pack up our things. "I usually try to get in a quick band practice after this class, but if you're not busy..." he said softly as he put his laptop in his bag and wound up his headphones.

"I have my art class after this, but if it was literally any other class, I'd skip it," I replied with a laugh.

"Oh, okay, no worries," he said as he raked his fingers through his hair.

"What are you doing this weekend?" I asked in a flirtier tone than I meant as class was being dismissed. "So we can study for the quiz on Monday.." I clarified.

He blushed and said, "I'm free tonight, actually."

"My friend is coming to visit from back home, so I'm taking her out..what about tomorrow?" I asked hopefully.

"Saturdays are band practice and sometimes gigs..Sunday?" He added hopefully. I giggled and nodded. "So Sunday works?" He asked again to be sure as we walked outside together.

"Sunday works, where are we studying? I vote your place or the library because my roommate is kind of a dick.." I replied with a snort of laughter.

"I'll text you my address," he said with a half smile that made my heart flutter.

"See you Sunday, Jake!" I called out as we parted ways. I smacked my forehead in embarrassment as soon as he was out of my eyeline. What is wrong with me?

I made it into my art class right before class started, and my incense burner was already at my table. "This is really good, Miss Davis," my professor said as they walked past me. I beamed up at them, always happy to receive compliments.
