It's been a few days and I've really enjoyed my time here, the girls are great and tonight is the first game. It's against Brighton at home for a 7:30 pm kick off. I know I won't start because I've only been here for 3 days but it'll be great to watch these girls.
I do my usual morning routine and the day went quick, I was on FaceTime Leah. We've been getting closer again and I really enjoy speaking to her.
Leah: I bet you £50 you score tonight
I was a little stunned from her bet.
Bella: you think I'm even getting on? I've been here for days leah.
Leah: do you accept my bet, by the way if you do come on and you miss an open goal I'm going to be really angry.
Bella: yeah yeah, whatever.
Leah: anyways i was thinking, maybe I could come up to you at the weekend, after your game vs Chelsea of course.
Bella: what about if I came to you? I kinda want to see my mum, you know?
Leah: That's fine but this is my treat, I'm taking you around the city even though you've lived here all your life.
We both laugh until I hear a knock at my door.
Bella: somebody's at my door I'll be back in a minute.
I leave my phone on the bed and go to check who's at my door, when I open it I see Janine.
"Hi Janine what are you doing here?" I say inviting her in, not wanting to be rude.
"I was just wondering if you wanted to get coffee before the game, I messaged you but you never replied" Janine says. "Oh right, yeah sorry I was on FaceTime to Leah. I left her in my room actually" I say laughing. "Erm well I'm down to get some coffee I'll go let her know"
I offer Janine a seat on the sofa and head to my room. "Who was at the door?" leah asks, "it was Janine, she wants to go out for coffee" I say noticing Leah's face drop, "oh" she says. "I'll call you before my game I promise but I really need some coffee" I say. "It's fine, bye Bella" Leah says without say my nickname. Weird. "Bye Leah" i say ending the call.
"Ready to go?" Janine says getting up, "yup" I say as we walk out. We make small talk in the car to Costa. She's a really bubbly person and we bounce off one another really well. She told me a bit about her childhood and her life in Canada and it sounds so nice.
It was roughly an hour before our meeting time and Janine asked me if I wanted to go back to hers to chill out. I agreed and we left.
Her house was beautiful, as she was giving me a tour the last room was her favourite. "This is the best room of the house" she says opening the door, my jaw dropped. "You like music?!" I said in an almost shout, "yeah" she says as we sit on the sofa. The room was filled with records and instruments. "Do you play?" I ask her, "of course, do you?" Janine asks me. "Yeah I make my own songs, my music room is unfortunately back in London so I can't show you" I say disappointed. "It's all good, you got any pics?" She says which I immediately agree too and show her. We both talk for a while until I ask her if she would play a song on the guitar.
She started to play and I knew the song, it was my favourite song from when I was little. 505 by the arctic monkeys.
I felt really emotional when she was playing, it was like I was 10 again, singing in my room with a microphone.
"Did you like it?" Janine asks, placing the guitar down. "I loved it. It was actually my favourite song when I was younger, and it still is but it brought back so many memories. Thank you for playing for me" I say with a tear in my eye. "Hey, don't cry" Janine says shifting over to me wiping my tear away. She gives me a hug and doesn't let go. "You okay?" She asks, "yeah, thank you" I say. "Okay now lets get ready for this match, I have a feeling your gonna score" she says giggling, helping me up. "I hope so" I say and follow her out the door. "I know so" Janine reply's getting into the car.
