Loyalty test- April

"But who, Ray Mond? Who could it possibly be?" April sighed, frustrated. "Lucas? Ricardo? France? March? Tony? Marty, maybe? There's just so many people it could be!" She put her palms up to her head as she rested it on them, hating what she and Ray were doing in that very moment.

What were they doing, you ask? They were trying to figure out who CG could put her against in the Loyalty test and it was heartbreaking for the both of them.

"April.." Ray called out in a sympathetic tone, putting a consoling hand up to her gorl's shoulder. Nobody had confirmed anything to them but they both knew it was coming. The day of the Big Toe album release when they had their little talk, April had expressed to Ray Mond how she thought that CG doubted her Loyalty and even though they both had thought that it was all sorted after the talk with Mr. K,  it turned out, it wasn't. Nothing was...

They had both been noticing how everyone was changing around April. Everybody was always sure of Ray Mond's loyalty, the question lied with April. When the word about her sneakily talking to Marty came out, considering her past, everything changed heavily.

She started noticing how people trusted her with information less, how they slowly stopped opening up, taking other people over her during heists. She noticed the change in people's demeanors or how they all stopped talking collectively as soon as she entered the room. She noticed how they started questioning her more, started being more conservatives and secretive in her presence. How less and less gang information was shared with her. It slowly but surely got to her.

Even Ray Mond noticed this change in her boys regarding April. They never talked about her in front of Ray either, they knew the two shared almost everything. And this almost everything, included April venting about the whole situation.

Even though the boys were trying their best to be subtle with it, April had always been one to detect tones. She knew... she always knew the day would come— The day of her Loyalty test.

Thinking of where she went wrong, she couldn't believe just her talking to people could be taken as her not being Loyal to Chang Gang— her family. She couldn't believe how her not wanting to participate in warfare could be a point in this, or her interacting with cops, people outside the gang that they didn't obviously like either. Shouldn't it be okay as long as CG is the priority? Shouldn't it be..?

"April I-" Ray's voice  brought April out of her thoughts. She looked up at Ray, her face still settled on her palms. Ray's frown deepened as she saw the gloss forming in April's eyes. She sighed, "I think it is this week.." she whispered ever so softly, not wanting April to hear the dreaded news but of course she did. Of course April heard.

April's eyes widened as she pulled her head up, reaching Ray's level again. "What?" she whispered, her voice breaking, "B.. but that's not enough time.. that's not enough time, Ray!" A lonesome tear fell from her eyes as she digested the information before she broke out into a sob.

Ray immediately leaned forward to hug April, cradling the poor girl in her arms as her own face drowned in tears. "I can't Ray! I can't! I can't do it.." April cried out— a cry of pure agony.

Ray's heart was slowly breaking into smaller and smaller pieces as she tried to console her crying best friend. Even she herself couldn't believe it. Almost all of April's friends that came to mind for the loyalty test were her friends too so she could somewhat understand April's pain. 

But then also she knew how much worse it was for April. She either had to kill one of her loved ones or be killed. As for Ray, she either had to lose her best friend or see her lose herself from the guilt and pain.

April's broken voice emerged again, breaking Ray out of her thoughts, "How did you... how?" she asked, trying her best to form an actual sentence as to voice her question.
