"Yeah! And you should name it Maldinis because you're always madling at all the uncles." Ray giggled making Vinny grin wider. "Yeah?" He mused as he picked her up and propped her onto the kitchen slab. "Yeah." She declared happily.

"Alright, my dear, what kinda pizza would you like?" He asked her, his hands on the stool in front of her, giving him support as he shifted most of his upper body weight onto it. "Uhmm.." She mumbled, thinking. "A pineapple pizza! I love pineapple pizza!" He chuckled at her words, standing straight back up. "Of course you do," He rolled his eyes at her with a smile. "Just like your mother," He commented making her giggle.

"Really? She liked pineapple pizza?" Ray asked innocently making Vinny's gaze at her soften. He nodded, humming in response. "Mhm. She loved it, actually."

Ray's eyes twinkled at his words, putting a smile on his face as he prepped the pizza base. "She had good choice then," She boasted softly, giggling right after making Vinny laugh. "Of course she did, dear. I was her husband, after all." He responded, focusing on the pizza base.

"Hmm, that's where her choice wasn't the best," She retaliated making Vinny's eyes widen as he he turned to look at her. Ray laughed out loud at her words and her father's reaction to them. "You've been hanging out with Randy too much, huh? He's been teaching you all of this witty stuff, hasn't he?" He mused, making her bite her lip to hide her lie as she shook her head rapidly.

"No, no! We just play, I promise. He doesn't teach me bad things at all!" Vinny just shook his head at her response, knowing very well she was lying and that Randy was corrupting her. "He's turning you into a notorious kid just like he is." He commented, spreading sauce on the base.

"No, dad. You're worrying for no reason! Me and Randy are both good kids. You can ask miss Kate, we never misbehave." She replied in a mischievous tone.

"Yeah, that's definitely what I hear everyday. Definitely." He shook his head again, remembering the complains of them too constantly bickering that their teacher Kate, gave him.

"What do you want to drink with it?" Vinny asked the little girl, putting the pizza in the oven. "Just water is good. I'll get it!" She giggled, hopping down the countertop and running to the fridge. Carrying a bottle of cold water and getting two glasses, she put them on the slab before hopping back up on it.

She poured the water in the glasses as the father daughter conversed softly. Sounds of their laughters echoing in the apartment.

*~*

"Vinny.." Vinny snapped out of his memories, hearing Randy's voice emerge from the entrance to is apartment. "What?" He snapped at the guy making him look lower. "I-" Randy sighs. "K sent this for you," He murmured, putting some documents on the table.

"What are these?" Vinny asked him. "It's.." Randy sighed again, finding it hard to get the words out of his mouth. "It's Ray's—"

"Don't fucking take her name out of your mouth, Randy. This is my first and last warning. If you do it again, even I don't know what I'll do to you." Vinny rubbed his temple, trying to make the headache go away. "Fucking spit it out Randy! What are these?!" He yelled at him, agitated.

"It's her hospital documents. E- Everything has already been sorted out for the funeral and such." Normally, Vinny would be shocked seeing Randy the way he was in the moment— eyes red, tired body, messy hair, long beard, dark circles under his eyes and a stuttering voice. It was as if he lost a part of himself when Ray died— But Vinny didn't care. He was too consumed by pain from his daughter's death and anger for the man that might have been responsible for it.

He had been a lot quieter, lost and just been keeping to himself. K had been trying to push him to do stuff just to make sure he doesn't go down the rabbit hole of his thoughts but it definitely hasn't been working but atleast he got out because of it.

Vinny eyed the document, tears welling in his eyes as he sighed to control them. "Leave," He ordered Randy. Vinny had been just about the same. The only difference being was that he either busied himself in work or when free, thought about her, remising their memories together.

"Vinny?" He looked up at Randy, annoyed. "I'm sorr—"

"Don't you fucking dare finish that!" Vinny got up from his seat, walking over to Randy. "What bullshit do you think your sorry is gonna do, huh, Randy?" He practically spat at the man. "If it's not going to bring my daughter back to life then don't speak and just fuck off."

"Vinny, I- I tried.. I promise you I tried my best. I didn't.." Vinny's heart hurt seeing Randy, who's like a son to him, cry but he subsided the feelings. "Your best couldn't save her, could it?"

"I didn't know that she'd- she'd die.. If I knew she even be a little harmed, I would've tried a different method, I swear."

Vinny sighed, running his hands over his face. "What good is it going to do now, Randy?" He huffed, frustrated. "Nothing. Right?" He looked anywhere but at Randy, not being able to handle the pain that he felt when he looked at the killer of his daughter. "She's gone, we just have to live with that now. So, please let me just mourn the death of my daughter in peace and fucking leave." He practically begged making Randy's soul hurt even more than it already was.

"I wish it was me, not her." Randy whispered softly before walking out of the apartment.

I wish it was me, not her.

His words rung in Vinny's ear as his knees gave out. He fell to the ground, a sob breaking out of him. In the span of a night, he lost two of his children. He felt broken, even beyond broken maybe. "Ray..." He cried out. "My dear... I miss you, please come back." His sob deepened. "We all miss you, he misses you. He'll die, dear, he'll die without you. I might too," His cries rung in his apartment as he mourned the death of his youngest, his heart aching.

"I love you so much, Ray, please come back, my dear... Please.." Sounds of Vinny's cried echoed in the apartment.
