"So after all these time, the thing you call me for is about business." I told myself I wasn't gonna care again, but it still hurts that my family only cares about their reputation.
"Jesus Skylar." Noah spits out with irritation. "Be mature for once." I scoff.
"Oh that's rich coming from you." I hear him sigh from the other side of the phone.
"It's just for a day. We're not asking you to move back home or some shit." He's so bad at pleading for something.
"I'm not coming Noah." I tell him sternly.
"Why the fuck are you so stubborn? Can't you just do something nice for your family for once?" If he thinks him ranting on me is gonna make me change my mind, then he has another thing coming.
"Tell Mom to go hire someone who looks like me to play the role you all play in that house."
"You know what, I don't even know why I tried talking to you. You're never gonna change." I waste no time in ending the call.
They are the ones that are never gonna change.
I hug my body, staring straight into the woods. It's always so peaceful and quiet back here.
I walk back into the house, closing the glass slide door behind me.
"Hey," Ivy calls out, moving towards me.
"Are you okay?" I nod my head.
"Sorry about Ray, he can be an ass sometimes." The last thing I need is to be reminded of that moment right now.
First Ray, then my dipshit brother.
"Thank God Ivy is over her fear for dogs. I'm definitely gonna get a puppy now." Chase and Brooklyn are still seated on couch, playing with Brooke when we walk back to the living room.
"I told you." Ivy says to me with a laugh.
"Are you okay?" Weston ask immediately we sit down and I nod in response with a little smile.
"We are finally gonna throw the party we told you about." Chase informs.
"Party?" Brooklyn face brightens at that.
"You finally agreed?" I turn to Weston.
"Yeah." He brushes off casually. I see the smirk he's fighting to not show though.
