"From one to hundred, give me a number that fits the level of awkwardness between Asa and Chase." Weston says and I turn my head to see both of them.
"A hundred and one." I blurt out, nodding my head to assist the answer and he laughs.
We have moved from my house to Emily's home, where she invited all of us to have an evening picnic with her family.
It came as a surprise to me, being asked for the first time. But I was more than glad to honor her invitation.
"Weston?" Emily calls out, coming out of her house.
"Yeah?" She walks to both of us.
"Can you come help me carry some things outside?" He nods, unhooking his arms that have been around me all day and walks off behind Emily.
"In a million years, I never thought my brother would be this hypnotised by the power of love." I chuckle to Ivy's statement as she walks to stand beside me.
Ray, Chase and Emily's husband are seated on a bench, while Asa is playing with Robin and the dogs.
Fruits and home-cooked meals decorates the long table, along with different kinds of pastries. The fact that she made all this before she even invited us over, still surprises me.
"Are you okay?" I ask Ivy after some while.
I haven't really spoken to her since the whole Asa and Chase situation.
"Yeah." She graces me with her smile, but I couldn't wash away the feeling that she isn't okay.
"Why wouldn't I be?"
"You just seem more reserved and collected." I put my arm around her shoulder when she didn't say anything.
"I just wanna know if you're okay, plus you look really tired and stressed out." She breathes.
"I am really okay Skylar." She finally says, flashing me a thin smile.
"And yes I'm extremely stressed out because I was working on those designs without taking a break. But thankfully, I'm finally done." She twist her neck from side to side in relief.
"We are gonna get you that getaway that you deserve." I say to her and she smiles brightly.
The day went on and happiness and joy filled the atmosphere. We ate, laughed, made silly jokes amongst ourselves and all.
After some while, I decided that this moment shouldn't just go without it being captured and it will also be a good way to get in touch with my once forgotten love.
"I'm gonna go get my camera." I tell Weston as I get up from the bench, where we were all seated outside. He gives a little nod with a smile that always makes my heart flutter.
