So, uh

We were talking about inflation in housing prices in ELA (long story). And I mentioned that the prices in my neighborhood had skyrocketed.

First of all, in reality the general neighborhood has always been expensive. But the specific area I live in (at least, with my mom) used to be a lot more run down and neglected.

When my parents bought in the house in like 2009, they got it for around 300,000 dollars. Now, we could sell it for up to 2 million.

And even then, we would probably struggle with getting a new house

So, I talked about that, and my teacher was like, "yeah, even though your house has a lot of equity (built up value or whatnot) it's still really expensive to get a new house

with that money"

But I know for a fact we could pretty easily buy a new house. Only, my mom doesn't want to so she's working on remodeling.

aaand I'm getting off track

I just-

I get to be so fucking privileged with my mom

ANd now my dad's trying to find a new apartment and I'm realizing so much

I guess I do live in a bubble

Can someone come pop it?
