Tris POV
The ride back home was awkward and quiet. I plugged my earbuds in and fell asleep, again. Nobody spoke about going to Peter's. Of course they all wanted to go because of the party, but he's my ex. My psycho ex.
I don't know why I dated him. He turned out to be a real asshole and jerk and now I've created all these problems.
"Tris, let's go." I hear Zeke say.
I open my eyes and see that we are in our driveway. My brothers and Tobias get out of the car and grab their things.
We wave and walk inside as Tobias walks next door.
"You guys asked Shauna and Marlene to homecoming, right?" I ask.
They nod.
"Did Eric ask you?" Uriah asks.
I shake my head.
"Speaking of Mar, I'm headed over to her house now for dinner with her family." Uriah says.
"Maybe you should ask for her hand." Zeke says.
"Yeah, it's been over four years." I say.
Uriah blushes and walks out the door.
"Shaunas coming for dinner with her family when she gets home so either dress nice and show yourself or hide in your room." Zeke says.
"Her family as in Lynn and Hector and their parents." I clarify. "I'll just hang out with Lynn."
He rolls his eyes and walks away. I run upstairs take a quick shower before they come. When I get out, I hear people downstairs. I get dressed in sweats and run downstairs.
"Tris!" Hector says, running up and give me a hug.
Hector is Lynn and Shauna's brother. He's 12, just like Christina's sister, Rose.
"Hec, let go of her." Lynn says.
"Why?" Hector asks.
"Because she needs personal space." Shauna says.
She walks up to Zeke and they kiss. Hector makes gagging sounds and pushes them away from each other.
"Oh please, we all know you've got a thing for Rose." Zeke says.
Hector blushes.
"What!" I exclaim. "Why haven't I heard about this?"
"Hector has a crush." Lynn says.
"We're gonna have a talk right now." I say.
I lead them into the kitchen and Lynn and Hector sit at the island.
"Mom, I got this." I say, shooing her out of the kitchen.
I continue cooking the roast she was making. I add spices and put it in the oven.
"So, Rose?" I ask.
Hector nods slowly.
"Hec, you're too young." Lynn says.
"No way! Mar and Uriah were dating at 13!" Hector says.
He blushes again at his words.
We walk into the living room where the adults plus Zeke and Shauna are sitting.
Shauna is sitting on Zeke's lap on the loveseat.
"Where's Uriah?" Their dad asks.
"He's having dinner at Mar's" Zeke said.
"Ah, has he popped the question yet?" Their mom, Grace asks.
"Not yet. Marlene's parents are getting worried now." Mom says.
