Chapter thirty-four|Meows

Ellie's pov:

I'm stuck in this shithole called house for few days now.It's boring and I miss Camilo so much. Maybe even Carlos? Oh god I'm really carving for some kind of adventure.

My parents were super mad at me and I understood why. But I'm scared that they won't let me see Camilo again..

Mirabel's pov:

Days without Ellie are weird. It feels strange to not see her around with Camilo and the others. Overal everything seems weird since the party. The Maragals are leaving soon but Carlos seems still angry over the fact that Ellie and Camilo kissed.

At least that was what I heard.Well as I said Maragals were leaving soon, and 'soon' meant today. To be honest, I'm glad that they're leaving. I mean-Don't get me wrong but 27 people in our Casita wasn't my thing.

But I have also noticed that Luisa was acting weird lately. She is covering her ears and don't like loud noises.And she wasn't the only was that was acting strange.

My tia Pepa does the same. She keeps checking herself in the mirror everytime she walks past it. And Felix seems worried too.

After the breakfast, us and Maragals said out goodbyes and the family started their long ride home. And our usual day started. Some chores around the villiage and house, talking to people and enjoying the day.

But how can I enjoy the day when someone is missing?

When I was in the town, keeping the kids in company as usual. I noticed a grey cat in one of the alleys. Cats in Encanto? How weird. The only family that owned a cat was Ellie's family. But it wasn't their cat.

I slowly came closer to the cat and stucked out my hand so the cat could sniff it. After she did, she looked at me and meowed. After that she started walking around me and cuddling with my legs.

I chuckled and started petting her. "I guess that I have a new friend" I smiled. After a closer investigation I found out it's a boy so i've decided to name him Meows. What a basic name, I know.

When I was done with my chores I went to the market to get Meows some essensials like, a pillow, food and toys.But when I was on my way back into the Casita I bumped into a similliar face.

"Oh, hey Daniel!" I smiled. "Good to see you, Mirabel" Daniel smiled back. "How's Ellie?" I raised my eyebrow. "Not very good. She always complains how bored she is and how she miss Camilo and you" Daniel chuckled. "How cute" That sentence made smile on my face grow bigger.

"I see that you've got a cat" Daniel pointed at the basket Meows was in. "I found him in the streets, so" I smiled. "I have to go now, you know now when Ellie is grounded someone has to get bread" Daniel laughed.

"How long is she grounded for?" I asked curiously. "9 months" Daniel shrugged. "What? Why 9 months?" I raised my eyebrow.

"To make sure she's not pregnant" Daniel was now holding back laughter. "That so stupid" I laughed. "I know" Daniel nodded. But then Meows started meowing. "And now I have to go, see you later!"

"See ya!"

When I got home I was greeted by sad Camilo carrying a plate of arepas. He's been like this since Ellie got grounded. That guy's really in love.

I climbed the stairs and entered the nursery. I placed the basket with Meows and his stuff on my bed and started unpacking it.He seemed very happy to be here.

I was finishing the last details on my and Meows's room when I heard my Mami calling everyone for dinner. I quickly placed down the item I was holding and ran downstairs.

Most of the family was already there. Everyone took their seats and the dinner began. But it was weirder than usual.

Everyone were quiet and seemed uncomfy. "Julietta have you used diffrent ingredients?" Abuela asked.Did she just insulted Mami's food? "It tastes perfectly fine to me" I rolled my eyes.

"No, it's my usual Pandea Paisa recepie" Mami looked sad. My Abuela could sometimes make my blood boil.
And after that a few minutes of silence began. Until Camilo spoke up.

"Has anyone noticed that the Miracle was acting weird lately?" He asked. "Stop lying Camilo" Abuela hissed. "I'm just saying" Camilo mumbled.

After this awkward dinner I went straight to sleep.

The next day I woke up in great mood. I sat up on my bed and looked around the room to see that Meows is sitting on the edge of my bed. "Good morning owner" He said.

Wait...

Did I just understood him?
