Bree and Tony moved to New York three weeks later. They took their time unpacking and setting up the home the way they wanted, making Stark Tower the perfect place to live.
Late one night, Bree sat on the balcony, looking over the city, a drink in her hand as she watched everything bustle below her. "This is amazing."
Tony walked out onto the balcony to join Bree. "Enjoying the view?" He asked her.
She looked over at him with a soft smile. "It's beautiful here." Bree took a sip of her drink and looked back out at the glittering city. "Are you enjoying your bigger lab?"
"I am. I have more room in just my lab than I ever thought I would have." Tony chuckled. "I made some modifications to my suit. I don't plan on using it, but I still like to have it just in case."
Bree looked over at him and smiled. "You know I don't mind if you decide to test drive it. I know you like flying in it."
"I doubt I will. The simulations are enough for now." Tony shrugged.
She looked over at him curiously. "That doesn't sound like you. Is something bothering you?"
Tony shook his head. "No. I just don't want people thinking I changed my mind about retirement."
Bree sat her drink on the edge of the balcony before turning and wrapping her arms around Tony's waist. "Have you heard from Coulson or Fury? Apparently, things are getting worse with them going against that guy."
"Not a word from either of them. I told you they wouldn't need me." Tony chuckled, taking Bree into his arms.
"I've been watching the news. It's not looking like things are going in their favor. The Loki guy took someone's eye right from their head. Apparently, it was to get access to something."
Tony hooked his finger under Emily's chin and tilted her head, so she looked up at him. "They will be fine without me."
Bree sighed softly as she met Tony's brown eyes. "Okay," she murmured.
"They haven't even tried to call again." Tony assured her, feeling like she didn't fully agree with his choice.
"I know. I just hope they reach out to you if they need you," she murmured.
"You don't like that I've retired, do you?" Tony asked, wanting to know her thoughts.
Bree leaned into his touch as he caressed her cheek. "I just want you to be yourself," she murmured. "I would be worried about you constantly... but I know you miss it."
"Maybe I do miss it, but I would miss you more." Tony said truthfully.
She smiled softly before leaning up and brushing her lips against his in a gentle kiss. "As long as you're happy. So am I."
"I do want to know your true thoughts, regardless." Tony told her, pressing his forehead to hers.
"I'm happy," she assured him. "I know we're working at starting a family, so that's what's most important right now."
"Yes it is. Fury knows better than to call me again." Tony promised Bree.
She chuckled and nipped at his thumb when he passed it over her bottom lip. "Getting protective already."
"I have felt protective of you from the start." Tony admitted.
"Even when you first hired me?" Bree asked. "You didn't know me then."
"I hired you because you had already caught my eye." Tony confessed.
"Wh- really?" Bree smiled. "I had no idea. You did ignore me for the first few months, Even had someone else train me."
