Chapter 3 - Interrupted reunion

After I put Blake into her room, the Belladonna's and Sun keeps on bombard me with all kind of questions they have in their mind. How I'm still alive. How did I get here. What happened to my hand. In the end it left me exhausted after answering all the questions. Later that night, Ghira brought me into my old room they had during my childhood. Apparently they never have the guts to change that old room for other uses because they do take me as their adopted son. And with Sun not having a room to sleep in, I let him sleep on the small chair in my room.

In that room, he obviously still have few more enquiries regarding my presence in here as well as my relation with the Belladonna beside the fact I'm going out with their daughter. But before he tried to ask me a single question, I hit the bed and fell into a deep sleep.

The next day

I woke up as soon as I heard a chicken clucking from the outside. Sitting on the bed, I take my time to stretch myself. Then I head out if the room, leaving Sun who's still sleeping on the chair. Walking along the hall way, I finally reached the small dining table where Ghira is seating beside it while reading a newspaper in his hand. Then Kali come out carrying a tray with teapot, some cups and a plate of biscuits.

" Let me help you."
" Oh. Thank you, dear."

Hearing my voice, Ghira immediately put down the newspaper then he took off his glasses.

" Good morning, son. Did you have a good rest?"
" Morning, dad. I had my best sleep last night. Never had a chance to rest like this for quite a long time. "

I put down the tray on the table and started to pour down the hot tea into a cup. After it is full, I put it in front of Ghira.

" Ah you shouldn't be doing this. You should preserve your energy. "
" It's fine. This is my way to relax myself. "

Kali just took her turn to sit at Ghira's side as I follows her lead to sit on the cushion.

" So, how long are you going to be around?"
" I'm not so sure. I think it depends."
" Depends on what?"
" You see. The reason I came here in the first place was to find Blake. And this all happened just because of my promise with her."
" And what is that?"
" I've promised to protect her with my whole life."

Hearing my confession, Kali gasped in surprise with her hands simultaneously covered her mouth. Ghira starts to stare straight to my face as my words grew a set of suspicion in his mind.

" So does this mean..."
" You're dating her, now?"

Kali finishes Ghira's word. I looked at both of them then sighed.

" That's an easy way to say it. Yes, we are dating each other."

Kali squealed as she heard my confession. She was way too excited to hear that news. But on the other hand, Ghira just stare at me. His cold gaze made me gulped even though I wasn't even drink or eat anything at the moment.

" All these days I've been thinking that you and Blake were just acting like a happy siblings. Who would have thought that you've taken her for something more than a sibling."

He said then slowly he extends his left hand straight towards me. His action started to freaked me out. But without any idea of how I can walk out of this situation, I just braced myself and prepare for whatever his hand trying to do towards me.

*Pat pat*

He patted my back twice.

" I thought you were mad."
" Why would I? Don't be silly. I've always like you ever since I've taken you into this family. It is true that this situation have surprised me. But its just a trivial matter."
" T-Thank you.... I guess."
" Just please, never try to hurt her feelings."
