Chapter 17 - Mission

First Person POV

" Now! What kind of mission do we want to have?", you asked. After the short briefing, there were some monitors displayed around the hall for the mission available for each team. Your team gathered around in front of one of the monitors to select the mission we interested in.

" How about this.", Eliz tapped the 'Perimeter Defense' mission." Sounds fun."

" How bout you guys?", you asked. Zack just gave you a thumbs up but Leo still thinking.

" What's the mission asked?", he finally responded.

" I don't know. But the mission starts ASAP so... Sounds good to me!", Eliz explained.

" And.... where is it again?", you asked.

" It's uhm..... here! Quadrant 2.... If I'm not wrong, it's around the Emerald Forest.", she added. You look at the rest of the team.

" Emerald Forest, huh?.... What do you guys think?", you asked the rest. They just nodded gently." Then, that's it! Get that one right now, Lady!”, you cheered with your clenched fist flew into the air. Eliz tap the monitor then enters the team name. Luckily, the mission was suitable for the 1st years.

" We're in! Oooooh! I'm so excited!”, Eliz yelled.

" Now now... Why don't we pack our stuff before we leave.", Leo suggested. You look at the monitor seeing the countdown for the meet up with the Huntsman in charge. They didn't tell you who the Huntsman is but he will wait for your arrival at the airfield in another hour. All of you started to work your way out of the hall then bumped into team RWBY.

" Oh hey, girls! Get your mission already?", you greeted them. All of them smile at you except for Weiss who still curious about you and Blake.

" Oh yeah! We gonna shadow a Huntsman to investigate the Southeast! How about you guys?", Ruby answered.

" Nice! Well, we just getting into the Emerald Forest to clean out that place from Grimms. It gonna be exhausting.", Eliz said. You looked at Blake which holds her hand while looking the other way around. You feel bad about it then started to talk to her.

" Hey, Blake. You're okay?", you finally spoke. She flinched for a moment then looked at the ground.

" Oh, yeah. I'm fine.", she answered. You got the feeling that she wasn't feeling well. Then you decided to walk towards her then grab her shoulder. She looked at you then let out a small gasped when you hugged her.

" It's okay, Blake. We will be apart for a couple of days. But I promise you that I will bring you around the city after our mission ends.", you said. She then added my time into the warm embrace. Both of you stay in the same position for a couple of seconds. Both of you break apart when you heard Yang cleared her throat.

" I know both of you started to be together but ah.... There is someone here still not legal for this.", she said. Both of you looked at Ruby who got both of her eyes shut with Weiss' hands. She struggles to let go of herself for Weiss but Weiss fights back, making it impossible for her to escape.

" Weiss! What are you doing?! Let go of my eyes!”

" No, Ruby. I'm afraid that you're too young for this."

" For what!?", she squeaked. Weiss whispers into her ears which finally makes Ruby stopped moving. After Weiss let go of her eyes, Ruby rushes towards both of you then punched Blake's shoulder." You are filth. FILTH!!!", she said.

" What the hell just happened?", you asked. Ruby walked away behind her sister while grunting all the way.

" She reads Ninjas of Love but she accidentally.... Read the lemon part. So, you know....", Blake explained with some nervous chuckles. You facepalms then walk together with the others to the airfield.

" Hey! Team CVFY is back!”, suddenly a student yelled. All of you made your way towards that team who were walking to the school.

" Velvet. Are you okay?", Blake greeted. Velvet turned around towards all of you, leaving her friends who were still on their way back into the school.

" I'm fine. I had Yatsuhashi to look out for me.", she answered.

" You're mission was supposed to end a week ago. What happened?", Weiss strikes her with more questions.

" N-nothing happened. It was just... There were just so many. Oh but don't worry. You first years are just shadowing huntsmen so you should be fine.", Velvet answered. But her answer didn't make up your and the rest's mind on the mission. The mission looks like it was tougher than what all of you were think of.

" Riiight...", Yang said with some unsure tone.

" I should go. Be safe okay.", Velvet said again then waved her hand into the air as she made her leave. All of you looked at each other then started to think about the upcoming mission.

" We can do this.", Weiss said.

" We've never backed down before and we're not going to start now.", Ruby added. She tried to give all of you the courage needed to accomplish the ever first official mission. Seems like her afford worth the shot as the rest of you started to think better.

" Right.", Blake said.

" Besides it won't only be us out there. We'll be fighting alongside a genuine huntsman!", Ruby added.

" Yeah!", Yang cheered.

" I think we should go now too.", you suggested to your teammates. They looked at their scrolls then seeing that they also have around 30 minutes to set themselves to meet the huntsman they're going to have their mission with.

" Yeah. Let's get going guys!", Eliz said. All of you worked your way to your room to get everything you'll need for the mission. Since the mission might be held at the Emerald Forest, you took a sleeping bag with you. The rest just pucked their bags then all of you worked your way to the airfield.

" Who do you think will be the huntsman we're going to work with?", Zack suddenly asked. You looked at him as he made a curious look on his face.

" Guess what? I hope he will be the best huntsman out there!", Eliz said.

" He... You said?", Zack asked. He didn't look like he was satisfied with what Eliz just said. She chuckles as she saw his face.

" What!? Are you jealous?"

" No, I'm not!"

" Yes you do!", Eliz teased him. He let out a soft grunt then walks faster than the others, leaving you, Eliz and Leo behind." Aaaaw.... You look so cute when you're jealous.", she said again as she makes up with his pace. She eventually cuddles on his arm that makes him flinched in surprise.

" Huh.... Sick of looking me and Blake lovey-dovey all the time.", you scoffed. Leo just chuckled along the way. Not long after that, all of you reached the airfield where a bullhead was readied to take off. You get to the airship then asked the pilot for confirmation and indeed, that bullhead was for your team mission. But neither of you had seen any huntsman around.

" So... Where's the huntsman?", Zack asked.

" Like I know where he is. Well, we got here 5 minutes earlier from scheduled so... he might be a bit late I guess.", you said. Suddenly, you saw someone walking towards the bullhead.

" Wait... It that...", Leo spoke.

" Oh no no no no.... Please he's not the one we shadowing for this mission.", Eliz whined.

" Hohohohoh... Welcome aboard! Who's the one that going to save the mythical Emerald Forest from the vicious Grimms and be the greatest huntsman and huntress?", that guy said as he entered the bullhead.

" Yeah.... That's Professor Port for ya.", you said to the rest of your teammates while facepalms yourself.
