Chapter 28 - Fading Hope

" Aw... Is this the legendary (C/n) that I've known before? Oh my. Look at you. Ah you remind me about Blake. You won't believe me if I tell you, her friend looked exactly like you. Losing her arm trying to save her.", he paused while he twirls his crimson blade around. " But there's only one difference. Someone did try to help her, but no one's there to help you.", he finishes as he slowly raised his blade, pointing its sharp tip right on your chest. Right before he stabs you, he stars dagger into your eyes, looking at his prodigy's frail body about to get himself killed by his trainer. Getting tired of revealing the bitter truth of the unfairness of the world, you gave up on your life and give Adam the perfect chance for him to take your life by kneeling in the pool of your own, hot blood while looking at the Shattered Moon. When he readied himself to thrust the sword straight into your heart, you close both of your eyes, taking every last breath you could with tears started to rushes out of your eyes before you could rejoice with your beloved biological parents whose waiting for your arrival in the heaven.... but maybe you will burn in hell for the sins you've done in your life killing as an assassin. Without taking any hesitations, Adam stabs into your chest..... you didn't feel anything pain...? You slowly open your eyes, trying to find out the reason you can't feel anything despite having yourself stabbed. But to your surprise, the blade did go through you, but your life wasn't taken away like what you've expected to be happening. Instead, the blade didn't kill you even though it went through you and you can move your body..... realizing this feeling you felt before you tried to turn your head towards your only teammate that can use her Semblance to avoid death, Eliz. But to no avail, you can't move your muscle rather than watch Adam bamboozled by the disappearance of your kneeling body.

" What?! AARRRGGGGHHH!!!", Adam rages as he failed to kill the foe that vanishes right in front of him just before he could take his foe's very own last breath. He looked around him, pointing his blade into the directions he's looking at with his face now frowning madly. Finally, he sheathed back his blade into its scabbard." Huh. Running away again, (C/n)? Pathetic. No wonder why he could fall for you, Blake. He acted just like you. Cowards.", he talks with himself.

" Brother Taurus! What should we do now?", suddenly some White Fang thugs came in towards him. He turns around to face them then got himself distracted by the shrieking sound of the gigantic black dragon circling the school compound. 

" Our job's done here. Let's get out of here.", he shouted. Everybody around him follows his lead as he runs away from the now bloody courtyard. Then, you can move your muscles. You quickly turned around, trying to find Eliz. She's still there, laying on that now red grass field, looking at you with her face getting paler than usual. You use all your energy left inside your body crawling towards her. Dragging your body use your remaining right hand. You can still feel the blood gushing out of the cut in your left hand, the aftermath of the last attack you've received that unfortunately costs you your left forearm.

When you're able to reach Eliz, you gentle took her now dying head then rest it on your lap. With your right hand, you caress her cheek. Blood flowing out from her lacerated abdomen and her limbs. You can see that her will to live slow fade away from existence. As your tears started to fall onto her face, you saw her lips move slowly, trying to pass her last message to her team leader before she joins her other fallen teammates.

" (Y/n)... I... I'm sorry. I couldn't save the rest...", her voice started to break apart into a painful cry.

" If I.... If I was staying with all of you.... This won't happen.", you cried. She stares into your eyes with her dying eyes. Her gentle gaze brings you further into your guilt. As soon as you shut both of your eyes, crying out loud. You felt her cold fingers touch your right cheek.

" No... You're wrong. It's not your fault.", she said so softly that it sounds more like she's whispering. Your tears come out louder and louder as the time slowly flows. You can't help anything other than watch Eliz takes her very last breath before the body on your laps become an empty vessel. You cry becomes louder after you saw her chest stops moving since she no longer breathing. At that moment, you ignore everything that happens around you even though a giant Grimm Dragon is flying around, bashing the tower, sending a piece of the tower around you. All you care about was the fate that you have to go through all this time.

" WHY!!! Why..... Why I have to go through all this suffering!!?? What have I done wrong?", you cried. As time moves on, your vision becomes blurry. Your eyelids felt heavier than before. You're hearing fades away. And finally, you became unconscious....
