On My Own || Monokuma x Reader

Inspired by the song "On My Own" from the musical Les Misērables.

I fucked up and posted this on my normal monokuma x reader lol

Monokuma walked in the rain next to Y/N. They both loved going on late night walks on the island when it was raining. The rain was warm and softly sprinkling. They didn't have an umbrella but that was fine. Y/N's hair was slightly wet and clumping together.

"You seem down" they said

"Ah don't worry about it" Monokuma patted their shoulder

"Come on~ tell me! Im your favorite student arent i?"

"Yes...but as my favorite student i shouldn't push my problems onto you" He rolled his eyes. Y/N laughed and stood with their hands on their hips.

"Im not moving till you tell me" they smirked. Monokuma sighed.

"Fine~" Monokuma and them started to walk.

"So?" They watched the boy wide eyed excited to help their dear friend.

"Well...I've just been struggling from someone...from my past" he said looking down

"Oh?"

"Its like...I have to pretend that they're beside me when they're no you know?"

"I get that  they nodded

"And I like to pretend I'm walking with them...till the sun comes up and we talk about everything...and their arms around me and telling me they love me..." he sighed

"Ooh~ you have a crush!"

"Yeah, but they don't know i do...and they won't know for a long time...we were originally dating but they got their mind erased. But when I close my eyes...they've found me again"

"Oh...im sorry" Y/N tries to lift the mood, "H-Hey...arent the trees pretty? With the starlight in them? And the pavement! It looks like silver, and the lights are misty in ocean..." Y/N points in all directions. "Im sure they weren't as pretty as who ever you're talking about~" they teased him. Monokuma rolled his eyes and hit their arm playfully.

"I mean...I know its only in my mind and all. I know im talking to myself...and that they aren't really there when I have those thoughts. Still I like to say...that there's a way for us"

"They really mean a lot to you..." Y/N frowned

"I love them..." he sighed and bit his bottom lip trying not to cry ,"When the night is over...theyre still gone.. that ocean? With the lights...its just a an ocean. Without them...the world around me changes...like alot. The trees looks bare and dead. The streets are full of strangers. Yet everyday...the pretending gets harder. It gets hard to get lost in my day dreams"

"Day dreams are definitely normal...hell I day dream about being with my brother again" Y/N sighed

"Its hard to think that...without me, the world keeps turning for them. They'll live in a hopeful and...and happy world. A world that...I've never known" he choked out and fell to the floor crying.

"Monokuma!" Y/N fell to his side

"Y/N...i...I love you...but only on my own..."
