Chris's POV
"I need to get my sister out of that stinking base!" Kat screamed as I dragged her into the house with help of Damon.
Sofia was home. She ran towards the door immediately helping me settle down Kat.
"Chris! Let me go!" Kat kicked me.
"Okay that's it." Damon snapped and grabbed her and threw her over his shoulder. "Shut up for goodness sake!"
"No! Damon! Let! Me! Go!" She kept punching him until she simply couldn't hold back her sadness anymore. All her strength went into her tears to fall and she couldn't struggle anymore. She gave up and started crying. Damon put her down on the couch then sat down beside her. She curled up into a ball snuggling into him crying out loud.
"Chris." Sofia held my hand. "What happened? Where's Haley and Kayden?"
I had the answer to her question. But believing it myself was not easy. How can I tell her something that seems so much like a lie. Every single thing that happened back there played in my head like a movie. I stood there doing nothing while they took her away. I can't believe after all the things we went through together Kayden was just playing with her. How could he?
"Kayden." I breathed looking at Kat and Damon. "He works for Quinn."
Sofia gasped covering her mouth.
"They kept Haley." I walked over to Kat. Who looked at me with disappointment and sadness.
"How could you just leave her there Chris? I need to know if she's okay! Just let me go I'll find a way to get in there and-"
"Don't be so stupid Kat!" I said. "If we try doing something like that Haley will be in more danger than she is already in."
"But Chris I can't just sit and watch-"
"Kat please! Let's just do what they say."
She turned away from me, burying her face in Damon's chest.
"Come on Kat." Sofia slowly held her hand. "Let's get cleaned up. Then we could talk about it." She put an arm around her helping her up. Maybe this is why girls need girls in their lives, sometimes they need someone to understand exactly what they feel.
A little while later Sofia came back alone. "She fell asleep." She announced. For now that was the best thing she could do. "I suggest you too try do the same. Pacing around doesn't solve anything." Something I loved about her, she's calm under pressure and she knows how to take things in one at a time. The exact opposite of me.
I walked towards the stairs but I turned around immediately. "Baby you should hide."
"What! Why?" She asked confused. I held her by her shoulders. "Chris I'm not leaving you here like this."
"Come back only when I tell you to. In a few hours Quinn's men will be here to take all the weapons, if they see you too you'll end up in a mess and you wouldn't be able to even think of helping us. So leave for now. I'll come back to get you."
I took her a moment to process everything but she nodded. "Okay~" She said. Then leaned over and kissed me. "Just please, try and stay safe."
