Kayden's POV

Chris and Kat will be here tonight. What frightened me was that I haven't seen Haley since that evening he took her to that room. That place still gives me nightmares I definitely don't want her traumatized. I wanted to protect her. That's been my reason my whole life. I'll do anything for that. I was walking down the corridor towards the training area.

Sometimes I wonder if Haley just happens to know when ever I thought of her. Cause when I made it towards that cell the first thing I heard was her voice yelling, "Leave Kayden alone!"

What ever it was I couldn't hear anything else from the other side. I walked closer knowing I'll screw things up if I walk in. But in a few seconds Quinn walked out of the room.

"Ah! Great timing!" He smiled at me. I swear I wanted to punch him in the face. "You should go in and talk to her. She may have a lot to tell you."

Like I said seeing her being tortured will be the end of me. I practically stumbled into the room only to find her standing facing away from the door.

"Haley!" I ran to her. "Love are you okay did he-" I turned her around, her eyes red as they met mine. My heart sank down into a dark hole I didn't even know existed inside me.

Haley's POV

This time his touch meant everything to me. He started scanning me for any sort of injury before I placed my hands on either sides of his face making him meet my eyes.

I was never the first to fall in love with him, and I've never been able to love him more than he did. My heart felt as if it was being chained down and the air in my lungs just chocked me in every possible way. Love. That's what he still called me. That's what I was to him even after everything he went through to protect me.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Of all the things I could say that was the first thing that slipped out of my mouth. Why were we never able to share his pain. "Why Kayden-?" A tear rolled down my cheek. I haven't exactly cried in a while, maybe cause I never had to when he was around.

At first he was confused what I was talking about. But then maybe he understood what Quinn exactly did.

"I'm sorry!" He said pulling me into his chest. Home. That's what I felt. In a sticking old room meant for torturing people I felt safe being held in his arms. And I could only hope he felt the same.

It took us a few minutes to assure each other that we were fine.

"Chris and Kat will be here tonight." He said softly. "Quinn will be out tonight. I'll get you to them. They know what to do."

"What about you? You met Chris? You're coming with us right?"

"No no listen Haley...." He's not planning on staying here is he? "I know I explained to your brother but he's never gonna trust me like he used to. Besides I want you to get out of here-"

Your brother? Kayden never referred to Chris as just my brother. He Loves him just like his own brother. "No Kayden I'll tell him. You can't stay here." He held my hands.

"Please. I'll be fine here as long as I know you're okay."

"But Kayden he's using you." I blurted out. Does he not know Quinn wouldn't care even if he died as long as the world thing there is someone that could be a threat if they killed him?

"I know." His dark brown eyes doesn't look like they've had some rest in a while. "Please. Haley please go with them." There was a silence, just the eco of footsteps far away.

Its been some time since the two of us actually held each other like this. I have to admit I missed it. Maybe it was just me or maybe he felt it too, a sudden urge to move forward. My breath got stuck, my cold body finally started heating up from the point his skin touched mine to every nerve in my body. His impossibly soft lips moved against mine as I let my eyes close and let myself melt into him.

When we moved apart we were both breathing heavy. He slightly lowered his head letting his forehead touch mine.

"Tiger?"

"Yes love?"

"Promise me something."

"Okay."

I leaned onto his chest. "What ever he does, promise me you'll never give him what he wants." He didn't reply at once. "Even if it's me he uses."

"Okay." He finally said. A part of me knows he's not going to keep this promise, but I just keep wishing he does.

The door opened startling both of us. It was Quinn followed by several guards. "So. Does little princess want to live or does she wish to sacrifice herself for him?" Kayden stepped in front of me.

"She's not sacrificing herself for anyone!" Kayden snapped.

"We'll see about that." He said, then signaled his guard who instantly obeyed. They grabbed Kayden by his arms while he struggled to get of their grip, another man pulled me away dragging me towards the chair in the middle of the room.

I don't like the way this was going. "Did you or did you not convince him to do what I want?"

"I tell him what I want! When I feel like!"

A second later his palm collided with my cheek. I didn't exactly feel it. I've heard people say that when you're heart is holding to much pain, you don't exactly feel much physical pain.

"Don't you dare talk to me like that!" I glared at him. Kayden was struggling to get out of the man's grip. "Okay. Let's play the way you want." He pulled out a knife. "Kayden. I told you. Your mistakes will be engraved on her skin."

"Don't listen to him!" I said looking at Kayden.

A second later I felt the sharp tip of the blade against my cheek right before it made a cut. He traced the tip of the blade down my neck over to my wrist. He increased the pressure on the blade letting it pierce into my skin. No tears left my eyes, I wasn't screaming just watching the blood roll down my finger then making a pool on the ground. One after the other he was enjoying slashing the blade at me. It hurt. But I couldn't scream. The pain of the thought of having Kayden locked up here was far worse. I was pretty sure I was completely covered in blood by now.

"You should be mad at Kayden you know." Quinn moved closer to my face and grabbed a fistful of my hair, making me look at him in the eye. "You're going through all of this because of his so called love."

I knew those words hurt Kayden more than it hurt me. I wasn't going to scream in pain even if he tortured me till I die. My heart was too heavy for me to focus on the pain. I'm too broken to feel anything anymore.

"I'll do it!" Kayden yelled. "I'll pledge myself to the Quinn's stop what you're doing!"

"No! No Kayden please you promised!"
I tried to break free from the rope that tied me to the chair.

"That's my boy!" Quinn turned to him placing on hand on his shoulder and placing the knife he was holding on his hand. I saw the flame in his eyes. Quinn pulled him forward making him stand in front of me.

Our eyes met. His eyes travelled all over me seeing the damage Quinn did in a matter of minutes. I couldn't focus on him, my vision was blurry.

I saw Quinn whisper to Kayden. "No!" Kayden yelled.

"Oh boy did you not say you will pledge yourself to this gang? Now do as I say-"

"Sir! I apologize for disturbing you but we just found these two lurking outside the base!" I turned my head to see the guard who just walked in. With him were two people. A girl and a boy.

"Haley!" It was Chris who noticed me first.
