Pure Vanilla Cookie steps onto the glorious street of the Hollyberry Kingdom, with his sheep friend in tow.
Thanking (and paying) the ferryman, the two set out on their way.
Pure Vanilla Cookie had changed his disguise to something less... ragged, to not stand out in the proud streets as much. So now he wore a white robe with a simple waffle collar (at the advice of his companion he had ditched the cape—which has a hole ripped in it now). It's obvious he's not from here, but he doesn't look dirt poor out of place. His souljam was tucked in a bag given to him by the sugar gnomes, and so was everything else he was carrying.
"Baaa!" The sheep hops excitedly as they walk through the streets.
"Please be careful! Wouldn't want you to slip." He laughs, "Oh? Isn't that the signup for that competition they're holding?"
His fluffy friend was gone before he finished, tearing off in that direction, with more speed than ever.
He has to try to stop laughing as he follows. He has to try and stop snickering as the Cookie taking signups is trying to comprehend what is going on.
"A-a sheep??"
"Yes." Pure Vanilla Cookie grins.
"Sir, is this your animal?"
"Technically they belong to no one."
"But, a sheep. An actual sheep competing in the Princess Competition?"
"Are there any rules against it?" Pure Vanilla Cookie asks.
"I... I'm not getting paid enough for this..." The Cookie sighs and scribbles something on the paper.
"Baa!" The sheep runs off somewhere.
Pure Vanilla Cookie wanders through the crowds, hoping to maybe spot anyone familiar.
Which he did, in the form of Strawberry Cookie! But, unfortunately, he's too far away to be able to talk to her..."Baa!"
The reappearance of his companion was what made him aware of just how long he's been hopelessly wandering.
"Oh! You're back! Heh, you certainly look wonderful."He didn't know where they had gone, but wherever it was could clean a sheep.
There was no sand left in their wool, and their hooves seemed to sparkle."Baa!"
"According to the competition fliers, it seems that you need to go... there." He points off in the correct direction. "I'll see you after the competition, if I cannot find who I am looking for I may join you at some point. I'll be sure to keep myself updated on where you are."
"Baa!" The sheep hurries off.
"Good luck." He laughs.
"Dear visitors, honorable contenders... Welcome to the grand Princess Contest! Thank you all for joining in the festivities! Today, we're going to be selecting the next princess of the Hollyberry Kingdom!
First, the qualifying round will be held inside the Palace Gardens. Then, inside the Palace, the Final Trail will take place." The announcer turns to look beside him before looking back at the crowd, "And now, a welcome speech from Her Majesty the Queen, Jungleberry Cookie!" He hands her the microphone as he bows."Cookies from all over the realm and beyond!" She says like she's practiced this a million times, then she full stops, verbally pointing out the odd contestant, "(is that a sheep?)" She clears her throat, "Welcome! T-today one of you will take the place of the Hollyberry Princess!"
She stops to collect herself, "Each trial will test the virtues of the Hollyberry Princess: Crunchiness, Sweetness, and Strength!
Each of the contenders will be given an equal opportunity! Descent, lineage, species, or wealth are of no significance here.
May the Princess Contest begin and let the sweetest one win!"
