[Is this chapter broken scenarios? Yes. Are they important? Kind of...
This is the last Captain's Tales chapter I promise—]After the ship had set sail again, (C/F) Sheep hurried into the town itself, finding not much out of the ordinary. There was a supply shop for travelers, a market in the square, and a dying forest on the other side.
The Cookies of the town weren't very friendly—not like the Cookies of the North anyway. Most tried to kick them whenever they stood next to store windows to look inside and many a time they had been shoved off benches or chased around by someone with a broom.
Then there were the others who were just overjoyed by their mere existence—like a nice shop owner who had practically dragged them inside their store the second they first noticed (C/F) Sheep and spoiled them rotten. (If they get called Floofy one more time they may kick a wall hard enough to topple a building.) But they were few and most ended up hating them after interacting with them.Since (C/F) Sheep wasn't really welcome in the town, they started sticking to the woods outside it, occasionally leaving to get things.
Then something happened.
The night turned far darker as a massive structure appeared in front of the moon; a very familiar structure—one they never thought they'd ever be so scared to see..."BAA!" (The Vanilla Kingdom! It's returned!) They sprint into the dead streets of the night. A few lights going on at the loud fearful bleating.
"SHUT UP!" Yells a Cookie from a window above.
(C/F) Sheep sighs. The townsfolk clearly don't know of the new danger... nor do they seem to care.
Would it really be that bad if this place got destroyed? His majesty would be ashamed of them for suggesting that...
Maybe going to try and reclaim the kingdom was their best option. Could they even do that single-handedly? Probably not given just how strong the forces of Darkness were before. They'd stand a better chance if they could join a band of traveling warriors. But what sort of group like that would be out here and willing to fight for the Vanilla Kingdom? No smart group, that's for certain; unless it was for selfish gain, then maybe.
For now, things would just have to continue as is.
So they run back into the woods.
Only a few days later, a very odd group of travelers came from the other way.
"Do you think we'll have enough to buy enough food?" One asks their companions.
"Do you reckon we have enough for any food?" Another asks. The group was holding a small worn bag, which they didn't seem to notice has a hole in the bottom.
(C/F) Cookie jumps to their feet, awakened at the sound of voices, and instinctively grabs their sword. This is when they realize they have two legs instead of four and that they have access to their sword. They've been trying to get as little sleep as possible, out of anxiety that the Forces of Darkness would attack under the cover of night.
"We'll just have to hope that this stuff isn't too old..." The third Cookie in the group says.
"Excuse me..." (C/F) Cookie exits their cave, picking up a loose coin on the road, "You're dropping coins. Did you check to see if that bag has a hole in it?"
"Oh CRUMBS!" One exclaims, looking at the trail they've left behind. "How will we pay for anything at this rate? Black Raisin Cookie will be upset if we can't get any raisin buns..."
"Well nothing is going to be solved as long as that bag has a hole." (C/F) Cookie picks up as many coins as they can carry and hands them back to the travelers. "Maybe one of you could hold the ripped side in your cloak to prevent further spillage?"
