Mr. G, Mr. G
When I enter his room, I'm full of glee
Colourful diagrams, arrows and long lines
Mr. G draws a smiley face. "You guys will be fine"
We've got a new assignment. It's on Google Classroom
It's clearly outlined. Now I won't need a tomb
We're graphing our logos, doing it in groups
"How about I be nice. I'll let you guys choose"
The last day of October, Halloween has come
He hands out some candy."Let's have some fun!"
We're not doing work. We want to chat
Mr. G watches us. He says nothing about that
I stride to his desk and look up at his eyes
He answers my question. It's negative, I realize
"How were your breaks? I've been at home
"I hope you've all had fun Playing in the snow"
He mentions Cam's costume, saying, "I watched anime"
"Wow, sir, me too," she smiles and says
Comprehensive handouts, he passes out papers
"If you want extra practice, go do these later"
He points at the calendar. Next week, there's a test
With Mr. G's help, I will do my best
I'm checking over my test. "Would you like another page?"
I say "No, thanks" and chuckle, can't wait 'til the next day
With sin, cos, or tan, I'll measure the height
Because of Mr. G, I have no fright
He gives us a break. "Can we go take a walk?"
He says yes, so we take laps and talk
He writes an equation. It's the difference of squares
Mr. G isn't boring. Now I will care
He pulls up a riddle, shows it on screen
We think for a moment. "The answer is green."
"I'm tired," says a student. Mr. G laughs like a pal
He walks over and grins. "Stop playing Clash Royale"
We scribble on the whiteboards. Our drawings are much larger
"Don't draw there anymore, or I'll hide the markers"
It's the last day of class. We're all sad to leave
"Thanks so much, sir, we'll miss you, Mr. G"
