As I loaded the last box into the U-Haul, I wiped a drop of sweat from my forehead.
"That should do it." I said turning around to see my mom with her hands cupped over her mouth with tears in her eyes.
"Uhh mom, what's wrong?" I said placing a hand on my hip.
"It's just that... I hate to leave! It's hard to leave everything behind, the house, family! Especially my parents!" She gasped through her tears.
I walked over to her, wrapping my arms around her. "I know, but we will be okay. Just think! A new, big house! With a huge kitchen...!" I smirked as I left the hug and jabbed her arm with my elbow.
She sniffed, "I know, I know. Come on, let's go." She said and hopped into the truck.
~
A loud screeching woke me up, and I squinted as I looked around.
"Where... Where are we?" I yawned as I stretched my arms out.
"Bella, welcome to Boston, Massachusetts!" My mom said as she clapped her hands excitedly.
"Already?" I looked around and saw we had arrived at our new house. It was a grey-brown color with grey blue shutters and front door.
We both got out of the truck and I slid open the U-Haul door, so we could start unloading the boxes.
~
We had gotten about halfway through, when my mom decided to unload the contents of the boxes into the house, while I continued bringing the rest of the boxes inside.
As I headed back to the truck from the house, a tall man walked out of the house next to ours, and began to walk down his driveway.
I went to grabbing the boxes and saw three marked "kitchen", so I attempted to grab all three to save time.
I lifted one box, and placed another one on top of it in my left arm, and held another box under my right arm. I made my way up to the front steps, but I couldn't see them because the boxes prevented me from seeing the ground.
Knowing my clumsy self, I tripped on a step causing the stack of two boxes to go flying in front of me, and I landed right flopped on top of the third box.
"Oh my god!" Said a voice as I struggled to get up.
I felt a hand gently grab my arm, and pull me up. Suddenly I was facing the tall man next door.
"Are you okay?" He said, as he dropped his hand from my arm.
The man very good looking, I thought. He had very broad shoulders, and his arms were strong looking. His eyes were blue, and they sparkled whenever the sun hit them and his lips were pink. He was wearing a blue under armor shirt that showed off his biceps and pecs, black basketball shorts and sneakers, with a baseball cap, pulled backwards on his head.
"Uhh, yeah I'm fine." I said, tucking a piece of my hair behind my ear.
"Are you sure? It looked like you had a pretty hard fall, I watched the whole thing." He said chuckling.
I placed a hand on hip. "Oh, you think it's so funny? Then why were you watching me the whole time, hm?" I smirked.
The man grinned, and ran his hand through his hair. "I was walking over to introduce myself, and as I was about to make my up your driveway, I saw you face plant onto your front steps." He let out a crooked smile.
I felt my cheeks go red. "I didn't face plant!"
He gave that "oh really, I think you did" look.
"Well, were you gonna come over here and do something or-"
"Oh yeah! We never formally met." He said sticking out his hand. "Hi. My name is Chris. I live next door, over there." He said, gesturing to his house.
I rolled my eyes, and shook his hand. "Yeah, I got that. Anyways, it's nice to meet you Chris, my name is Bella."
"Bella." He repeated, with that charming smile of his. "It's nice to meet you."
