"Hunter, vamos a llegar tarde, date prisa" from the bottom of the stairs, Luz buzzed with excitement. she had all her stuff ready and she couldn't wait to get to Bonesborough
"calm down, i'm coming" Hunter on the other hand, could wait a few more days. he didn't understand why Camila was making them a week before Hexside opened to get to the city.
"you're not coming fast enough" Luz groaned. Camila chuckled, kissing Luz's temple.
"we've got time," she said "don't rush him. you know how he is"
"hey! what does that mean?" Hunter whined as he walked down the stairs
"finally!" Luz grabbed her bag and rushed to the front door.
"come on, mijo" Camila smiled. together they walked out the door. this would be the last time Luz would see this house in months and though she was excited to start her new school year, she was going to miss this house dearly. Hunter would've stayed in Connecticut for all he cared, but Luz was so excited to be enrolled in the leaders-in-training program, when she asked him to go with, he instantly agreed.
Hunter was happy the plane ride was tamed. Camila fell asleep, Luz was watching a movie but her leg wouldn't stop bouncing up and down, even when she did eventually go to sleep.
one thing he couldn't understand was, how they were able to get business seats. he knew Camila didn't pay that much and she wouldn't tell him who paid for it. he had two ideas but he couldn't be too sure.
when they landed, Luz rushed out of the plane. Hunter was telling her to slow down as there were other people with them too but instead of just walking slowly, she decided to speed walk. Hunter sighed and Camila laughed.
someone waited for them with a sign which had their names. neither Luz or Hunter knew who this person was but Luz was too jumpy to be skeptical, but all Hunter could be was skeptical. he stepped in front of his mother, which was his way of protecting her before she could shake his hand. Camila tapped Hunter's shoulder and gestured for him to move
"i'm sorry, Gio. Hunter's always been a skeptical person" she told the man
"no problem"
the Nocedas followed the man now identified as Gio to his car. he drove deep into the city and then to the edge. and with the size of the city, damn it did take a while.
they finally reached a large house. it was an old house. by the way it was built, Hunter could tell it was built in the medieval age. knowledge he randomly knew.
"she's inside" Gio said "welcome to Bonesborough again"
Camila rang the doorbell next to the odd door as Gio the driver drove away. the same doorbell ring as she remembered. an odd one. it always said hoot hoot whenever someone rang.
the door opened, revealing a middle aged woman. Hunter and Luz took one look at her and knew in an instant who it was.
"Eda!" Luz jumped to hug the woman
"ok, ok" Eda struggled "let's get you inside kid" Luz let go of Eda and walked inside first. the house was filled with portraits and art pieces. some Luz recognized, most she knew were new.
"nice place" Camila chuckled. Eda closed the door behind Camila
"an upgrade if i do say so myself"
"what? did you con your way to buying this house?" Hunter scoffed
"in fact, this was a gift" Eda huffed
"sounds like a con" Hunter shrugged
"Eda! who's interrupting bath time?" from the hallway, tiny yet menacing footsteps were heard and were getting closer until into view came in a child in a bathrobe
"Oh, qué lindo!" Luz rushed to the child and hugged him "¿No eres tan lindo?" Camila and Hunter laughed as they sat down on the couch
"weh? get off me! Eda help me. i order you to help me" the child pushed and tried forcing his way out of Luz's tight embrace. he fell and ran to Eda, hiding behind her
"who is this monster?" he pointed
"this is Luz," Eda chuckled "and she's a human, you crybaby"
"hey! i am not a crybaby"
"sure, keep telling yourself that"
"i'm sorry, King. it's just that you get cuter ever time we visit"
"what? i don't know you, woman"
"of course you don't. the last time we were here, you were 4 years old" Camila said
"hmm, i have my eye on you, Luz the human" King said, waddling away
"aw" Eda and Luz said in unison
