Chapter 34 - Camera

Edric and Hunter woke up to the sound of a camera being flashed. Clung to each other, their eyes fluttered open, taking into notice the people in Edric's room. Luz, Gus, Matt And of course, Emira, the person behind the camera.

"This is going on my Penstagram" Emira states

"That's Fine," Edric snuggled closer to Hunter "I bet we look cute anyway"

"Hunter looks cute, you look like an awkward middle schooler with that raccoon cut" Emira crossed her arms with a smirk

Edric sat up quickly, exclaiming, "What?"

Hunter laughed because he knew that Emira was one of the people who could really mess with him. Edric's voice cracked as he yelled and demanded for a mirror, which led to the chain of laughs in the room

"Alright, Alright, we've had our fun" Gus said, in between chuckles. "I have news. Come on" Gus was the first one to leave, Matt following behind him.

Edric glanced at his sister but all he got was a shrug. Whatever this was, he hoped for Gus's sake this was important enough to wake him up over. 

Luz and Emira left Edric's room and soon after, Edric and Hunter followed. Everyone huddled at the living room, where someone Edric recognized stood.

"Don't fangirl" Emira smirked

"You don't fangirl" Edric took a seat, anxiously waiting for the person to speak

"Hello" he said "my name is Benedict Danvers" the club mates screamed

"Who's Benedict Danvers?" Luz whispered

"Only the director of all the best movies" Edric squealed

Benedict cleared his throat to get their attention and the room went silent. "Hello," he started again "my name is Benedict Danvers, and I have had the pleasure of looking at some of your works"

Edric and Emira could barely hold their excitement. They clung to each other, biting the lips to stop them from squealing to hard. Other too.

"It is because of that, that I am offering jobs on my newest film project that I am the producer of. According to your teachers, your experience will be marked according to your performance on set"

Luz couldn't believe it. She was confused to who this was, of course, but even so, she would finally get to see a real life set. She would finally get to work on one

"Your Marks Count for Your end of year exams"

That was crazy. It wasn't even half year. Sure, a movie usually is done in a year or two, but this was too much. Working on a set, a set filled with only teenagers (and Gus), that was nuts. What would happen if the movie wasn't a hit? Would they fail? Or how else would they be graded?

A hand raised, it was Luz. She had a few questions of her own, "how will we have auditions?"

"Great question. Simple answer; anyone can audition, but any of you who audition, will be graded on your acting performance"

"What about the director?" Matt questioned

"Ah yes," Benedict scurried through his satchel, coming to a stop after he found a notebook. And from the notebook, he read, "Augustus Porter?"

"That's me, sir" Gus gulped

"Augustus, you have been tasked as director of this project, by your teacher"

The club cheered and whooped, causing him to smile. He was confident in his abilities, culturally and film wise. It was nice to know that the school was just as confident. Or maybe this was a test? what if he cracked under pressure. Oh titan!

"The you will work in coordination with the club Bragi for music and composition"

Benedict finished off by giving the people their assigned crew roles, and then handed the book on which the film project was based off of. He left, leaving smiles on the children who just met their filming hero.

"Guys, this is huge" Gus gasped

"I know" Emira flopped on the couch, shocked still.

"This is the biggest thing I've done since I got here"

"What did you guys do last year?" Luz raised her eyebrow

"A play" Edric answered

Hunter turned to Edric and gave him a peck on the cheek. "I'm sure, it'll be fine" Edric smiled
