A week has passed since the departure of Arbulet from Fire Island. At last, Arbulet finally arrived at the Dark Island. The geography and culture of the Dark Island are very unfamiliar to Arbulet. He strolls around the harbor and buys essential materials he will need for the Dark Island's local school.
When he arrives at the local school on Dark Island, he notices that many students are practicing melee combat. He's ecstatic to meet folks who share his hobbies. He goes to the school's enrollment office to enroll. He enrolled in the Master in Assassination course. Arbulet was put to the test by a professional assassin as well as an instructor from the same school to see if he was capable of taking the course. He was accepted after the trial and will start school the next day.
He'd been at the Dark Island's local school for several hours. The sun is about to set, and he has nowhere to spend the night. Arbulet heads to the nearby woods to gather camping supplies. He starts a bonfire, which casts a ray of light into the darkness. A nearby creature was drawn to the light as a result of this. A massive wood spider appears and attacks Arbulet.
Arbulet gathers sharp pebbles and twigs from the area to throw at the wood spider, and they all hit the spider's eyes. Arbulet tries to flee, but the spider's silky web string hampers his movement. Because the spider can still smell Arbulet, it walks over to him. Just before the spider bites Arbulet's head, a silhouette of a lady arrives and commences slashing the beast to death.
Arbulet recognized the woman's ribbon and immediately recognized her as Vesper, a friend he met ten years ago on Fire Island. Vesper uses a dual blade to liberate Arbulet from the restraint. Arbulet presented himself, and Vesper, surprisingly, remembered him.
Arbulet is encouraged by the fact that Vesper now wields actual dual blades. Vesper is intrigued and inquires about Arbulet's activities on the Dark Island. Arbulet responded that he had traveled to the Dark Island to finish his studies and training in order to become a competent assassin. Vesper was pleased with Arbulet's response.
Vesper inquires about Arbulet's late-night activities in the woods. Arbulet says that he is gathering supplies and setting up camp for the night. Vesper persuades Arbulet to visit her childhood secret hideout for Arbulet to have a secure place to spend the night. Arbulet reluctantly accepts. Vesper and Arbulet explore the woods in search of Vesper's childhood hideout.
After arriving at the place, Vesper says that she was on her way to this place to take some materials. She came to save Arbulet after seeing him being attacked by a wood spider. Arbulet expressed his gratitude to Vesper once more for saving his life. Vesper tells Arbulet to be cautious and then leaves to return home.
Arbulet browsed around the hideout and came across some old photographs. He carefully examines old photographs and discovers that Vesper had a younger sister who also visited the same lair. Arbulet makes his bed and retires for the night.
Arbulet leaves the hideout the next day and goes to school. He wears his class uniform which is a thistle green colored top and black shorts. His class uniform is comfortable enough to perform physical activities.
Arbulet enters his classroom. The classroom is old-fashioned and very medieval. The classroom has large windows and a large stage, allowing the class to have a physical duel inside the room. He takes a seat in an unoccupied and free chair, and Vesper later sits next to him, confirming they are both in the same course and class. The class began shortly after that.Arbulet and Vesper spend their break time walking through the school's hallways together. Vesper explains why she wants the dual blades as her weapon, citing her past.
Vesper first saw someone using a spear when she was a small child, but the individual was too sluggish to use it. A monster assaulted the individual, but the beast was slain with the assistance of another person using a spear. Vesper discovers that if she utilizes two spears simultaneously, she can defeat creatures on her own.
Vesper practiced training dual blades with durable sticks she found. Vesper, on the other hand, is dissatisfied. When she couldn't demolish a training dummy in front of her, she became agitated and unintentionally hurled one of her blades, hitting a faraway training dummy. Vesper realized she could also throw them at distant targets with her blade.
Arbulet recalls a day when they were children, and Vesper struck him from behind with a stick. Vesper remembers that as well, and she was secretly surprised as well because that was her first time hitting a target without looking at it.
Vesper is now concentrating on her dual blade quick strikes and will practice blade tossing once she has mastered the rapid attacks. Vesper wants to defeat her opponents as quickly as possible. Hence she prioritizes swift attacks.
A group of students appeared out of nowhere, carrying an unconscious pupil. The group appears to be in a hurry to get to the school clinic. Vesper inquired about the problem with one of the kids in the group, who stated that their classmate had passed out after performing a magic spell on himself.
Arbulet and Vesper are also intrigued, so they visit the school clinic.
