Kim was awoken that night by a loud noise coming from the nursery. She shoved her half of the blankets off, running to check on what the noise was. She flicked the light on and rubbed her eyes. No sounds could be heard, so she ran over to both cribs. The babies were gone. Adam came running in.
"What's wrong?!" He asked in a worried tone.
"They're gone!"
"Who's gone?"
"Our kids."
He looked in both cribs and neither baby was in them.
"Someone took them!"
He stood next to her and pulled her into a hug.
"We're going to find them. I'm not sleeping until we do."
"They were just born yesterday...how could someone do this to us?" She asked through tears.
"I don't know. I really don't know." He ran back to their bedroom, took his phone off the charger and dialed Voight's number.
"Hank, are you there? I need your help."
"What is it?"
"The kids are gone. They're not in their cribs...they're not anywhere. Kim is going to make herself sick from crying so much. Please, help us."
"I'll be there in ten minutes with the rest of the unit."
"Thank you."
When they got there, Erin rushed over to Kim and pulled her into a hug.
"We'll find them. Don't worry."
"But Erin, they're newborns..."
"We will find them."
Antonio seemed particularly irritated with this situation.
"Antonio, what's wrong?"
"Diego and Eva are gone, too. They wouldn't just sneak out like this."
Suddenly, Adam's phone started going off. He picked it up.
"Hello?"
"Hello Adam."
"Who is this?"
"Don't act like you don't know."
"Tell me who you are before I find you!"
"You don't remember me?"
"Whoever the hell you are, tell me where they are!"
"Adrian Gish."
"How the hell did you get my number?!"
"Do me a favor and listen to this." Adrian put his phone on speaker. Crying could be heard in the background. It was the babies, plus the voices of three other kids could be heard.
"You have the kids?!"
"Yes I do. Not only do I have your dear twins, I have Mikayla Halstead along with Diego and Eva Dawson."
Jay and Antonio walked over and started yelling into the phone at Adrian.
"If any of you ever want to see your precious children again, you have twenty four hours to find me. Oh and I forgot to mention, I have a full tank of gas on hand along with a box of matches. You better hurry."
And with that, the line went dead. Hank walked angrily over to the front door.
"Alright everyone, suit up and let's go show Gish the Chicago way."
"But we don't know where he is."
"We will find out because where the call came from can be traced." Julie reminded them.
