•Chapter 16

~Jennie~

It's dawn, we haven't heard anything about the whereabouts of Lisa or Rosé or anyone outside.

I was very worried, I'd been going around the same place. Besides, I knew the place more thoroughly. It was just as big as the house we were staying in. With rooms, food, technology equipment and so on. But without windows or doors except for the big one. That had not been opened so far.

"Jennie, let's go get something to eat. You haven't eaten anything since yesterday" Jisoo says behind my back, I turn to see her and she gives me a look full of affection.

"I don't have much appetite" I say lightly. My voice was low, raspy. I clear my throat.

"At least take the lemonade. Come on, Lisa won't like you not eating anything, it's not good for you, Jennie." I sigh smiling at her and I take the glass in my hands. "That's how I like it"

"Jisoo" I say before she left "Why every time I think about your sister... I feel something in my chest? As if something was missing, it's like..."

She interrupts me "It's the bond. And it's quite strange since she hasn't marked you yet" She remains thoughtful and then smiles at me again. "Don't be like that anymore. Your alpha is strong and I know it will come back." I smile back.

The door finally opens and I held my breath for a moment, several men dressed in black appear through it. I recognize them as Lisa's guards.

They enter and some of them go towards girls sitting in different places, they give each other demonstrative hugs and some of them cry. Surely they are a couple. All this is what I cause, only for me they have to separate and every time I think about this it is painful.

Jisoo talks to one of them and then sees me.

"Come on, it's safe to go out now." we held hands and ran as we desperately climbed the stairs. When you get there everything is just like it was the night before.

Try to go up the stairs to the bedrooms and before doing so the front door opens. Lisa.

I observe her in detail, her hair is a mess... she has slight bruises on her face, she is not wearing a shirt, only her sports bra and her muscles were noticeable, her pants were ripped. She goes barefoot and finds herself with a hand on her side, she looks up and sees me. She forced a smile.

I go down the few steps I climbed and run up to her and before I get there I slow down to finally hug her. I felt all the warmth that emanated from her body and suddenly my heart filled me completely, this made me feel her. At last she wrapped me in her arms and pulled me closer to her.

"You are finally here." Let go and felt how her skin prickled at the sudden contact of my breath in her ear.

"I promised to come back" She said with her voice soundly hoarse and raspy, caresses my head and complains once more, I look at her abdomen worried.

"Are you okay? Are you hurt?" She denies but says nothing more. Suddenly Rosé arrives from behind, almost the same as Lisa, only this one has a shirt on.

"Let me help you, moon" She says and Lisa rests her arm around Rosé and she takes her by the waist as a support. I still stand there and follow them to the bottom of the stairs where Jisoo gives her a rather intense at Rosé and she just moves her lips and she nods.

"Seulgi" Jisoo says to the girl who passed behind us "Can you tell the maids that we need a first aid kit and something to eat please?" She nods and leaves.

"You go with Lisa I'll be there in a moment with things. I gotta help downstairs." I nod and she leaves.

I go up the stairs in a hurry and then Rosé goes down then showing me a friendly smile and lowers her head as a sign of respect before continuing on her way.

I got to the bedroom and Lisa was sitting in the bed.
I hug myself and walk over to her.

"I was very worried," I mumbled audibly.

"I promised you that everything would be fine" she looks me in the eyes and smiles slightly.

"Will you tell me what happened?" I ask and lean on the bedside table.

"I don't want you to get nervous or anything like that" She says and takes my hands on the spot.

"I'll be if you don't tell me"

Sigh "I thought the attack was from some Roger but it wasn't when I got to the scene of the attack. It was your stepfather's men again. I found them but not him, I recognized them by the mark on their neck."

I kept a moan of fright and my head did a thousand turns. I knew it, I knew he would come for me and he won't stop until he finds me.

"You can't be losing your men because of me Lisa. This is not good for yours, instead of bringing you peace I bring a thousand demons with me. I know him and I know that until he finds my whereabouts he will not stop." I say brushing my hair away from my face and getting up from where I was. This must stop.

"It's not your fault. That asshole just wants your powers for no good. If he succeeds, it will be the end of you. I can't lose you, not now that I just found you."

"What you can't keep losing yours. Just think" I sigh and drop my arms to my sides denied "Since I set foot in this pack everything has been chaos. . nothing was as you expected, two attacks are already in a month."

"There have been no losses, Jennie. Just understand that I won't lose you and I won't let him have you." She gets up "You are fundamental to me and I don't know what I would do if I lose you. You understand me."

She comes up to me and puts a hand on my face looking at me with tenderness and at that moment a shine runs through her eyes.

"I don't agree with this Lisa." I murmur.

"So. What are you trying to tell me?" she raise her voice.

"I just... I was just thinking about leaving, yes... after all, my powers have not been manifested. I don't have the necklace, nor can I use it, I know he won't hurt me because he always said it was the fundamental piece of his stupid plan. It's not fair that you lose people because of me.

"If you think I'll let you go with that sick man, you're wrong, Jennie! You can't leave me" she yells and I take a step back.

"It's a bit selfish what you say" I murmur "You prefer to lose lives than for me to solve this. There are families who suffer from this. Losses."

She looks at me and shakes her head one last time leaving me alone in the bedroom. At that point I understand what she's saying, but I can't just let everything go like this. Today it was just an attack but tomorrow what will it be? There are lives at stake and if I have to sacrifice myself to save some I will do it and if I have to let those powers that I do not yet know dominate me I will do it. Whether for my convenience or destruction.
