•Chapter 19

~Jennie~

"Daughter" whispers a voice in my head. A barely visible figure was in front of me, I tried to move but I couldn't; just as I try to see her face but it's impossible "Daughter" They whisper again in my head "I'm here, we'll be together" She murmured once again after a light interrupted the desperate tranquility of the darkness in which I was in.

"Don't go" I murmur, my voice is barely audible, with some fear, watching the figure walk away. "Please stay. I need you" Worry invades my system.

"We'll be together. Soon. Just don't give up in the face of the adversities that haunt you. You are strong."

I open my eyes slowly getting used to the light emitted by the lanterns on the ceiling. I was in Lisa's bedroom lying on her bed; a girl was standing at the window looking at the scenery lit by the moonlight in front of her.

"Who are you?" My voice is barely audible and scratchy. I clear my throat as I watch the girl turns to face me.

"Don't you recognize me?" She approaches me smiling while I sat up in bed "It's a little awkward not feeling our little connection, I'm Yuri your aunt." She smiles knowing that she is telling the truth.

Now she was more changed than the first time. Her hair was tied in a bun with various leaves and flowers with two crossed wands, her dress was more dry leaves than fabric in a nice side updo and this time she was wearing shoes; their weapons were the same as before.

"I'm sorry but I couldn't remember what happened to me?" I touched my head due to the slight dizziness of the moment.

"You fainted Jennie and it's kind of my fault" She sits at the bottom of the bed.

"Why?" I question intrigued without remembering anything.

"When you remove the locket there is no longer an object to retain your powers and therefore nature in some way claims you" loosen taking my hand showing me the veins marked on my arms in the form of crossed fine branches.

I'm surprised to see that I didn't have it before! I look at her scared and she smiles slightly.

"Not just those" she gets up to the dresser looking until she grabs a small mirror. She shows it to me and I look at it.

From my collarbones to the beginning of my chin were the same branches. I let go of the mirror scared while I play there feeling nothing.

"They'll leave, don't worry, it's normal for this to happen. Now I just came to give you this" She takes the pendant out of a small bag on her waist. I look at him for a few seconds as she approaches me. "It belongs to you and for this not to happen to you again, you need to have it," she whispers close to me. while I take it in my hands.

"I don't know if it's necessary to tell you this but" I pause while I try to get up "I heard my mother in my head. I could even see her, her silhouette but not her face" I clarify.

She walks over to me putting her arm on my shoulder.

"Jennie, your mother already knows you're here. She and you have a strong connection, the right time will come for you to see each other again."

"When would that be? I spent my whole life thinking that she was dead. Now I know that she lives and I can't be with her" I divert my gaze to the window.

"It is dangerous for one of you two to go out into the open. For the moment you must stay here, with Lisa. It is clear that you have a wonderful gift that not all the nymphs together can overcome without having your father's genes" she pauses "but the problem is that you don't know how to use them."

"In that I agree with you, but the danger is my stepfather and if I don't know how to control my powers, I won't be of any use to him" I clarify observing her.

"Yes, but you are a key point in this, with or without powers. For while I'll be coming to help you with that matter" nod - now I'll let you know that you're awake... causing a great fury by passing out.

I instinctively think of Lisa and how she is. Night had already fallen which means she was surely home and knew what had happened.

Yuri walks out the door while I finish getting up. Immediately, arms wrap around me, covering me completely.

"Mine" whisper in my ear. I feel deja vu when witnessing such a scene.

I smile wrapping my little arms around her back. Lisa sniffs my neck and I hear her growl.

"I was worried" She says close to my ear and immediately I feel my skin shiver.

She separates her face from my neck, fixing her orbs greener than hazel with my gaze.

"Sorry for causing you so much trouble," I murmur, separating from her.

She takes my hand gently pulling me to her body leading me to the bottom of the bed sitting on her lap. She wraps her big arms around my waist and rests her head on my shoulder.

"You don't cause me problems, you just make me worry. You don't know what I felt when I found out" she explains.

"Well, I'm sorry for making you worry" With some shyness I put my fingers behind his neck going up to his disheveled hair.

She growls at the touch as she pulls her body closer to mine if that's possible.

"You don't have to apologize but I don't want you to go through that again" She admits.

"Okay." She tightens her grip slightly as I catch my breath in her ear.

"Because you have those branches on your neck and not my mark" She separates her face from my neck and looks at me between angry and confused.

"Yuri says that they will disappear later. I don't know why they appeared." I shrug.

"Anyway. My mark would look much sexier on you" She says with a proud and somewhat arrogant tone

"What mark?" I ask intrigued.

She hesitates for a moment, then looks back at me.

"Have you eaten?" I look at her while raising an eyebrow.

"Why are you answering me with another question?" I wrinkled my nose.

"Why are you so beautiful?" She smiled foolishly.
