•Chapter 18

~Jennie~

I was lying comfortably on Lisa's chest. She was still asleep and I had already woken up a little earlier. My heart was beating wildly, these feelings were new to me; feeling loved and to a certain extent Beloved was a feeling... strange.

When you live in an environment where you only have to feel less every day due to the constant aggressions that show you affection, it is not something normal for you.

I smile slightly as Lisa hugs me, sticking as closely as possible to her body. I felt like the smallest being in the world.

"Are you awake?" She murmur as her voice echoes softly in my ears.

"Yes" I answered shortly as well as in whispers.

"Good morning little girl" She said shuddering, she put her face on my neck sniffing; At this point I was slightly nervous, that caused her in me.

"Good morning" I said smiling.

"Did I tell you that I like your smile?" She asked, taking her face slightly away from mine.

"No" I murmured with involuntary nervousness, but that caused me.

"Well, now you know it" She kiss my forehead "by the way, I'll go do something this afternoon. I won't be here" I sniff my uncontrolled hair.

"Can I come with you?" I questioned a little fearful of her answer.

"I'm still not going to risk taking you out with what has happened recently," I nodded, agreeing. Besides, I didn't want this attack to continue, it was causing enough problems already, and I still didn't know about my permanent stay here. I separated myself by getting up from the bed.

"I'm going to take a shower," I indicated. She showed a sad face and then nodded.

It was already lunch time, Lisa would not eat with me as she had been doing since the first day. I was uncomfortable without her I admit it; it's a bit strange to be without her company when I've already gotten used to it. That was one of my problems, getting attached to people quickly.

"Jennie" says a sweet voice behind me. Laura.

"Hello ma'am" I greeted giving us a kiss on the cheek. We walk towards the garden.

"You're already a member of the family, call me Laura, darling" She mentioned placing her hand on my shoulder "and where is my daughter?" we sat under a good shade away from the sun.

"She had to do several things this afternoon and that's why he couldn't eat with us today" I mentioned.

"It shows that you are already attached to her" Laura smiled happily at me, with a beautiful sparkle in her eyes.

"You could say yes" I mumbled sadly and she noticed it.

"Do not be embarrassed to show what you feel. You are destined to be together, it is something natural that you already love her."

"I stayed thoughtful for a few moments, still processing what she was telling me."

"I don't know what it's like to love" I confessed with shame "but what I feel now is a beautiful feeling."

Laura fixed her eyes on me and her sadness was remarkable. I did not want them to feel sorry for me but at a certain point what I said was true and this morning I realized that. Lisa looked at me differently, talked to me differently, treated me differently. And that in no time to live together; It felt nice and so far I didn't want to lose that.

"Do not worry honey. I know what you're saying perfectly" She murmur placing her hand on my cheek "better times will come for you" I nodded "and don't torture your mind thinking about things like that, with the affection and love that my daughter will give you. My daughter's affection, I know she loves you, and I hope mine is great for you" Her eyes crystallized "come here" she brought her arms closer to me and hugged me.

At this point I realized how much I needed my mom.

I walked along the path that led to the big tree with lights. The one that Lisa brought me for the first time that day, I sat in the big hammock that hung from one of its branches. I observed one of its many branches with fascination, that one specifically called my attention. I clung to the tree placing my palm on its branch and suddenly a blizzard hit my hair violently.

I moved my hand away from the tree with some fear. What had happened?

My heart was beating fast and I feel like my nose is running so much that I suddenly fall to the ground. Plunging me into deep darkness.
